Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990)
Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990)
1990 | Comedy, Horror, Sci-Fi
1190 sequel to the original Gremlins movie, relocating the action to New York and (largely) to the inside of a tech moguls hi-tech tower (think Trump Towers), with - of course - the Mogwai Gizmo getting wet and spawning more of the mischievous Gremlins, who basically run amok in what amounts to a live-action (well, puppeteer action) comedy horror Looney Tunes film!

After watching the first Deadpool and laughing harder than I had in a long time at the movies, I couldn't think of any way that they could improve on the anti-hero's story with a sequel. I was pleasantly surprised by the storyline and new characters that were introduced along with the reappearance of beloved old faces. Deadpool's growth in this movie, while hilarious, was refreshing to see despite the sad undercutting of a death early on. Many times during the movie they introduce topics and people that at first has you confused and thinking that it was probably a terrible decision, quickly leads to you loving every second. Although I never thought that I would say it before watching this movie, in my opinion, this is one case where the sequel might be better than the original.

Amazing Sequel of Epic Proportions
*NO SPOILERS, I promise* This being my very first musical, suffice it to say I was floored by the quality of the show. The actors really managed to bring the emotion out in this compelling sequel to The Phantom of the Opera. It follows the story of Christine and Erik 10 years later after their first fateful encounter. Nothing about the performance disappointed me. Minus a single technical difficulty that was resolved in less than 10 minutes, there were no interruptions. The music was also amazing. If you're not interested yet you might as well stop reading. For those of you who are, I seriously recommend following the crew for info on their upcoming shows. It's so worth the money and time you spend on it.

The Ring's Grudge
Unlike the first one, this one is bad. It is really different from the first one and thats really effects this movie from the first one. The first one was really horrorfying and terrorfying. This one was not the scary. I mean their were some scary sences, but overall it was not that scary. So whats the plot....

Sequel to the cult horror about a videotape that brings death to anyone who watches it. The journalist from the original film destroys the tape but is pursued by the demon that cursed it and who now wants to possess her son. The Japanese director of the original directs this sequel.

It is confusing, it really doesnt make any sense, really throws everything out that the first one had and just comes out with a awful movie.

Could've...shouldve..but didnt!
The cast is great and it was cool seeing the legendary Dick van Dyke make an appearance. It had elements of what should have been a good film. Good, not great. However, those elements got lost and the film, for me, ended up being very bland...just like the songs!
Mary Poppins is a classic. It had warmth, charm, humour and great songs. Everything that the sequel doesn't have.
Instead of making a sequel that follows the Banks family, maybe they could have had a different family and brought it a bit more up to date?
It got 5 stars cos my little ones liked it, however, they never asked to watch it again (thats unlike them) and they couldn't remember a song from the film.
