Barry Newman (204 KP) rated I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998) in Movies

The kills are a bit gorier than the original and Jennifer Love Hewitt's wardrobe is allot skimpier ,but other than that there is little to recommend in this bland and pedestrian sequel. The very definition of a lazy cliched slasher movie that is chock full of irritating new characters you long to be killed off (Mekhi Pfieffer, Brandy and dreadlocked stoner Jack Black) and plot holes and ridiculous twists. So many better horror movies out there worth watching instead.

A Carpenter Masterpiece
With an excellent eerie score, chilling suspenseful tone, realistic grounded acting, unforgettable quotable dialog, and genius inventive camera work. John Carpenter's classic slasher about a boogeyman possessed escaped inmate stalking babysitters on All Hallows Eve has been a huge inspiration for slasher films in generally. Not mention it spawned 7 sequels, a remake with a sequel, and a reboot. But after all these years John Carpenter's original Halloween still stands tall above the rest. A masterpiece!

I read somewhere that this is the first time that Denzel Washington has ever starred in a sequel to one of his earlier films.
The question I have is: why this one?
It's not that good, really, never really holding my attention (despite the presence of Pedro Pascal); full of clichés and with some rathe brutal action scenes.
Still, it is filmed well and Denzel, as always, gives a stellar performance. It's just a pity it's dull dull dull.

Without a doubt one of the best documenties on 80s horror till I watch the sequel which I will as I grew up on 80s horror thru vhs and late night tv as a teenager seeing the actors and film makers talk about the movies they made during the 80s even with running time of almost 4 and half hours long. I highly recommend this doc as a must watch for anyone who loves 80s horror.

This sequel may have a ridiculous title, it may be cheesy as hell, it may be brimming with awful one liners, it may be bonafide hot trash, but I'll be damned if it's not horrifically entertaining.
These movies have never really appealed to me, and this is my first time watching them, initially reluctantly, but here we are, two films down, and I am concerned at how hyped I am to watch the rest. What is happening to me

I can't think of any other sequel that is this severe in its shitness when compared to the original.
I can accept that this was made on a fraction of the budget afforded to Starship Troopers, but there is just nothing good about this follow up.
Pretty sure the very little shown of the bug aliens are literally copied and pasted from the first film as well.
Fuck, I wish this didn't exist.

I have been wanting to see this for years at least 30 years but now I've seen it was it funny enough yes I would say it was funny I laughed alot especially what happens to Bernie thruout the movie for me the real star of the movie has to be Terry kiser as Bernie and some of the things he has go thru playing a corpse was plain funny. Now to watch the sequel sometime
