Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2271 KP) rated The Crack in the Lens in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Brothers Old Red and Big Red travel back to Texas to figure out who killed the love of Old Red's life several years before. This is the darkest book in the series so far without quite as much humor. But it was still compelling reading for fans of the series.

Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3) in Books
Jul 10, 2018
This book is simply amazing. J.R. Ward really knows how to create a series with characters that you will love. Zsadist is by far one of my favorite characters. His brokenness is beautiful in his on twisted way.
I am glad that I reread this book. It really is so beautiful and heart wrenching. I cried, I laughed, and I wanted to scream. Do yourself a favor and read this series.

Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in Books
Jul 10, 2018
Well, I did it. I officially finished rereading all the Harry Potter books before July 31st, 2016.
Honestly, I don't know what to say about this book that hasn't already been said. This is beautiful, haunting, and it definitely brings back all of my emotions. This is simply one of the best series I have ever read & worth the time.
This will ALWAYS be one of my favorite series.

Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated Four: The Initiate (Divergent, #0.2) in Books
Jul 10, 2018
So, I finally can say that I finished the series. I have to say, I was unimpressed with the last two in the Divergent series so I didn't have high hopes for this one.
I surprisingly liked this book. I forgot how much I liked Four & it was interesting to learn more about him as a character. The writing was good and I enjoyed listening to this as an audiobook.

Leah (: (569 KP) rated Marked (Talented Saga book 6) in Books
Aug 27, 2018
This is the sixth book in the series and the storylines and mysteries continue to develop.
We are starting to see more of a global view of the Talented. As well as discovering more about the creation drug and it’s effects.
I am still a bit lost as to how this series is going to go which is good, there seems to be a lot of characters and possibilities at play.

Ehlana (0 KP) rated Belgarath the Sorcerer in Books
Aug 30, 2018
Must read!
While this book is not the first in the series ( you read 10 books before getting to this one) it will always be my favorite. Every book in the two series before this and the two prequels are amazing but this one is my favorite just because of the fact that I love Belgarath. He's just so entertaining and funny. Very enjoyable read!!

I had the advantage of not having read this book, so I was able to go into the series with completely fresh eyes, and I enjoyed it very much. David Tennant is a terrific demon. Michael Sheen has some truly funny moments. I could have used more Jon Hamm. "I'm the archangel fucking Gabriel" was one of my favorite lines of the entire series. Overall a fun show!

Story
Ok, but not the most thrilling.
As a huge fan of John le Carré, and have enjoyed many other film/TV adaptations of his work, I couldn't wait for this one!
Unfortunately, on screen it felt particularly dull. Series like The Night Manager, and even the early TV adaptations featuring Sir Alec Guinness, this series failed to capture the mix of excitement and suspense the book provides.

Tom G-Lewis (7 KP) rated The Blade Itself in Books

Really enjoyed, characters are in depth and believable.
I know the plot of most low fantasy doesn't end up going where you think it will but I really loved this and all of the first law series + it's spin offs ( can't wait for the next series!!)
I would also recommend getting on audio book as S Pacey does a great job of bringing all the characters to life!
