Aww, that last bit! Nero giving up training to just lounge on a settee with Leda eating caramel popcorn?! Who'd have thought? Haha.

I do enjoy this series very much and most of that is centered around Leda and Nero's relationship, and the friendship she has with many of the other members of the Legion. That's not to say that i dont enjoy reading about their adventures out in the wild.

Looking forward to reading more of this series!

"I discovered this series at a small gay bookstore when I was living above a hardware store in San Diego in the ’80s. I read the first book in 24 hours straight, no sleep. Then I devoured every other novel in the series — all of them — in one day each. If I had to Sophie’s Choice pick only a couple, I would say the first novel and “Babycakes,” topped only by “Maybe the Moon,” his unrelated tome."

Poor sequel
After the last air bender I had high hopes for this series but it just doesn't flow like it. The characters are unlikable and often down right annoying. There is no consistent purpose for the series and what she is trying to do and the bad guys don't ever seen to pose genuine threat. There are are also too many WTF moments wondering why characters do what they do.

The Lord of the Rings was my favorite book series growing up. I compare all of the books that I read to Lord of the Rings. J.R.R. Tolkien spent so much time and effort on these books, that is it is easy to see just how incredible they are. The Return of the King does a fantastic job of wrapping up the series and giving us the epic conclusion that we are looking for. Fantastic book!

7th novel in Terry Pratchett's ongoing Discworld series (and the first individual novel), this was quite possibly my introduction to that series - I can't remember having read any before this one (though I have read them all since).

As this is set quite early on, a lot of the now familiar characters were yet to be introduced and expanded upon. Indeed, you can even see the beginnings of what would become "Small Gods" in the pages of this book.

Star Trek: Discovery - Season 5
2024 |
The final series of the most touchy feely of the Star Trek shows where the crew seemingly rely on emotions rather than logic to win the day (whether that's good or bad is up to you), this entire series is really one long treasure hunt: find a clue, follow the path to the next clue, rinse and repeat ...

It looks good, sure, but I'm not (personally) a fan of this approach to Star Trek.

YMMV.
