My favourite book of the month has
College of shadows by Mark Wells! Well written and intriguing
Also Gods & Monsters was pretty good too!

My least favourite The Hating Game it was just drivel and a very rare one star as I don’t like giving them!

February was such a hard month I just struggled to read much.

My DNFS were high this month I just couldn’t get one with so many and to be honest both The Hating game and the Seven Sisters came so close to DNF!

Secrets In Shadows (Shadow Creek #1) by Leah Blake
Secrets in Shadows is the first book in the Shadow Creek series, and it starts with a bang! Rex is held within what could be a vicious circle - his father didn't want to be a wolf, so concentrated on fitting in with the human world and passed no information onto his family. Unfortunately, that meant that Rex and his brother grew up knowing very little about what it means, and how to survive. When they are attacked, they head for the only sanctuary they know. It is here that Rex learns just how bratty he has been, and figures out what he must do to change. I'm glad he figured it out, because he was a pain to begin with! Devon is the strong, silent type, and doesn't want a mate, let alone someone like Rex. However, that doesn't stop him from helping Rex when some hyenas get out of hand.

Being the first book, there is a lot to take in as you figure out a new world, new rules, new wars. It never feels like an info-dump though, and is spread out throughout the book. With no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, I was engrossed with the story and found the pacing to be just right for me. I have no hesitation in recommending this book for all fans of #M_M #PNR.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

Funny. So funny. (1 more)
Paced well, and story made sense
Humor sometimes detracted from otherwise powerful moments (0 more)
Far from a classic, but damn good fun
I went to see Thor: Ragnarok on a whim and am so happy that I did. It was so fun, and I had no idea that Taika was the one directing it, but it made total sense once I saw the credits (watch What We Do In The Shadows for an idea of the kind of humor in this Thor).

Sometimes Thor: Ragnarok should have taken itself a little more seriously than it did, but I did not think those moments detracted from my overall enjoyment of the film. Thanks for making action movies fun again, Marvel.

Also please keep Taika Waititi on for the next one. Please.

The Ninth Gate of the Kingdom of Shadows
Admit yourself into the Ninth Gate
I've witnessed this film get some stick but to me, it hits the spot on numerous levels and I can't understand where these people are coming from. Polanski is giving us a mysterious, dark and intriguing piece of work. The film revolves around the subject of a powerful book that for some, is worth more than life itself. The story sends Dean Corso (depp) on an investigation into the dark origins of the book and the once superficial rare book dealer finds a new infatuation other than himself. Great from start to finish with a great performance from all the cast, especially Depp and Frank Langella as Boris Balkan. For me it's a must.

This book is the first of a set of four, written by four different authors. It started with a single idea - rewrite fairytales with a mystical twist. Collectively, it's called the Royal House of Shadows.

I've enjoyed Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series and wanted to see how she would write under a "Mills & Boon" title!!!

I enjoyed this book and read it in one evening. It is a fast-paced book, not 'heavy' at all, although there are some twists and turns to the story as it involves memories being taken and you have to stay up to date with who did what to whom.

On the whole, a pleasant read. It didn't blow my socks off or make me blush but wasn't a waste of time either.
