Sis holmes
I love millie brown on stranger things I know she can act. But the script felt like enola should carry the show and just forget about sherlock holmes. Henry cavill played a good sherlock for a short time. I didn't feel like it was equal. Enola felt like sherlock didn't understand didn't give him a chance

David McK (3188 KP) rated Sherlock Holmes: The Voice of Treason in Books

At first, I must admit, I wondered what a Sherlock Holmes story that had not been written by Arthur Conan Doyle would be like.
And then I listened to this.
Set in the 'traditional' Sherlock Holmes setting of late in Queen Victoria's reign (in this case, after Reichenbach Falls) - instead of the more contemporary setting popularised by TVs Sherlock - this did take me a bit to get into.
However, it is impeccably produced and acted - even if it relies quite heavily on flashbacks - taking in such key characters as Sherlock himself, Dr Watson, Sherlock's brother Mycroft and Professor Moriarty, in a mystery around the kidnapping of the Queen!
(I was never taught that in school …)

David McK (3188 KP) rated Elementary - Season 1 in TV

A modern-day transplantation of Sherlock to the States, released roughly aroudn the same time as the-also-contemporary-set-BBCs-Sherlock and also starring Lucy Liu as Doctor Joan Watson (instead of Jim Watson) alongside Johnny Lee Millers Sherlock, I was one of those who couldn't quite see the point of this when it first came out.
Well, that, and because it wasn't easily viewable in the UK, until I recently came across it on Amazon Prime.
Having new seen season 1, I do have to say that - while enjoyable enough in its own right, and while lifting some aspects of the Sherlock tales (Moriarity and Irene Adler being the big 2) - I still feel that there is little in common with source.

Lee (2222 KP) rated Sherlock Gnomes (2018) in Movies
May 6, 2018
Too many new, pointless characters (2 more)
Ridiculous, predictable plot
Sherlock Gnomes himself. Completely dull
A disappointing sequel to a great family movie
Gnomeo and Juliet is a firm favourite in the Boardman house. A clever mix of charm, humour and Elton John songs. Unfortunately this followup, Sherlock Gnomes, is the complete opposite. As the gnomes move to London, they get mixed up in some strange plot involving gnome kidnapping. And it's up to Johnny Depp as the dull Sherlock Gnomes to try and solve the mystery. Predictable, unfunny, and crammed full of unnecessary and uninteresting characters.
