As you may be aware, I am a Reflections Fan. I read book one and was drawn in. By book 2 I was completely hooked and just found myself further enthralled with Alec and Adri as the story continued. So I'll admit to being torn about this set. I loved Reflections and wasn't sure if I even wanted to read an alternate storyline. But then my curiosity kicked in and I started reading it. As always with Dean Murray's books, I ended up staying awake a lot longer than I intended as I "just read one more chapter".

The story is certainly darker than the original series, hence the "Dark Reflections" series title. You see familiar faces in unfamiliar conditions and surroundings. Some of the things that happen in Reflections don't or haven't happened here. On the whole, it is a brand new look at the wolf pack of Sanctuary and of the shifter world in general.

I really enjoyed this book, almost against my own desires, and am looking forward to reading more in this series. I think it will be very interesting to find out how Adri and Alec will meet up this time. If you like Reflections, then definitely give Dark Reflections a chance.

BEAR CREEK VALENTINE is a second-chance romance between a bear shifter and a human. Dash's first mate was killed 'by accident' and he has been alone ever since. Aiden is getting ready for Valentine's Day with his amazing baked goods, a day that reminds him how alone he is. Will these two be able to find their HEA?

Once again, I was lost in Bear Creek and loved every moment of it. The story is long enough for me to fully immerse myself in it with the characters. As with book one, there is a slight mystery that comes to its own conclusion before the end of the story. It doesn't take the front seat so if you're after a fully-grown mystery, you've got the wrong book. It does present Aiden with quite a few problems, mind you. Luckily for him, he has Dash with his deep pockets to help him out.

It was also nice catching up with Knox and Levi again, although you don't technically have to read book one to get this one.

Thoroughly enjoyed a year spent with Aiden and Dash. Definitely recommended by me and I'm already looking forward to the next story.

Midnight Spells ( Witches of Hollow Cove 2)
By Kim Richardson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Get ready for this heart-pounding and laugh out loud magical adventure! Just when I thought I’d finally gotten my life back on track, the unexpected happens. It’s the annual Night Festival in Hollow Cove, a paranormal festival extravaganza that lasts for five nights and features a multitude of powerful faces in our paranormal circles. There’s only one little problem. Someone ends up dead. And I’m the one accused of murder. As my life spirals down the crapper once again, things between me and Marcus are even more confusing than ever before—hot—but ridiculously confusing. And to add to my wondrous good fortune—something or someone is trying to kill me. So, what is a witch do to? Find the culprit and clear my name, that’s what. If you like fast-paced urban fantasy adventure with a kick-butt heroine and plenty of action, suspense, and humor, you’ll love Midnight Spells.

This is becoming one of my favourite witch series I love the characters and stories. These books are so easy to fall into and read. Ronin makes me laugh so much he is definitely one of my favs! These books would definitely lift any reading slump esteem if you like a something a little quirky. It’s still the only Gorilla shifter I’ve ever come across too!

The Panther’s Lost Princess (Redclaw Security #1) by McKenna Dean
The Panther's Lost Princess is the first book in the Redclaw Security series, and I can't wait to read more! We start off with Ellie, a waitress who wants to enter a singing competition. She is all alone, but has her job and her friends. Things start looking up when Mr Hot Stuff turns up at the diner where she works, and seems interested in her. Mr Hot Stuff, otherwise known as Jack, is having a dilemma though. Ellie is his fated mate, but he has a job to do, which involves handing her over to her family. What's a shifter supposed to do?

Now, through no fault of the author, I thought that Ellie would be a panther, so imagine my surprise and delight when she turns out to be... well, something else! All of the characters in this story, whether they are mentioned a lot or a little, all contribute in helping the story to move forwards. The pacing is smooth, with one scene transitioning easily to the next. There were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. This story was thoroughly enjoyable, with plenty to offer the paranormal fan. Looking forward to the next one, and definitely recommended by me.

good, but not as good as March
Independent reviewer for Divine Magazine, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Will thought the charity shoot was a good thing, til his boyfriend, Geoffrey got all jealous of nothing. So Will dumps him and takes himself out to dinner. And has an instant and powerful reaction to Baz, his server. Baz is a swan shifter, and they mate for life so Baz needs to be careful with Will. Then Geoffrey turns up dead and both men are prime suspects.

Book 4 in the Calendar Men series, but you don't need to have read the other first. It will give you a better picture of what has happened on the photo shoot, but very little of the shoot appears here.

I liked this, a lot. Not as much as March, but I did like it. I just didn't love it and *insert whiny voice* I don't know why!

It carries drama of a different nature to the other books, but I liked that here. It also has shifters of a different breed: swans and coyotes. I did not see whodunnit until it was revealed in the book!

The heat level between Baz and Will is hot and steamy, but also deep and emotional, especially when Baz is talking about life mates and things.

I just LIKED it, but I didn't love it.

BUT!! Still a four star read and I'm interested how the rest of the year will play out.

4 GOOD solid stars
