Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated The Lonely Drop in Books
Jan 12, 2021
This was a very sweet short-story/novella that follows the story of two friends who lose touch for ten years before meeting again at one of their businesses. They quickly fall back into the friends rolls they used to have and phone each other regularly, meet up whenever they're both in town and flirt with each other.
I really liked it for the romance aspect. It was sweetly sexy with the dancing and the drinking and the flirting and the ending had me smiling like a loony because it was cute.

Charlotte (184 KP) rated In Darkness: The Werewolf in Books

Beautiful and heartwarming
This beautiful short story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Vicki and Nicholas, both amazing people, both struggled with self-confidence for different reasons. Their meeting is a definite meet cute and is just the start of sweet story that combines romance and surprises.
This is perfect for a chilled out afternoon. By the end I was wanting more, I'd love to delve a little deeper, see where things go from where we left off.
I'm thrilled that this is part of the In Darkness series, more supernatural stories to enthrall and delight!

Watched today don't watch that many movies at the cinema based on a Stephen King story think the last one was the second part of it as I read the original short story the movie is based on so I knew what the movie was about anyway the movie I liked it even for a movie that realies on jump scares not on gore which I liked by keeping the creature mostly in the dark helpled alot ramped up the fear factor overall good film hope there's a sequel

Phil Leader (619 KP) rated Zima Blue and Other Stories in Books
Nov 29, 2019
A collection of short stories by science fiction writer Alastair Reynolds, these stories showcase his world building outside of his more well-known Revelation Space epics. Each story is told with his flair for hard physics combined with space opera but always driven by the psyche of his characters.
With so many well-written stories here, there is bound to be much to be enjoyed by anyone who enjoys futuristic science fiction. The ideas are intriguing and clever, often provoking considerable thought. The writing is deft and fluid, keeping the pace up. Every story feels like a perfect capsule of the idea it contains, rarely too long and flabby or too short and rushed.
If you are a fan of Reynolds' other works or if you have never read a word he has written, this book will not disappoint.

Blazing Minds (92 KP) rated Sundown (2018) in Movies
Nov 1, 2021 (Updated Nov 3, 2021)
I don’t really want to give too much away about Sundown, so I suppose for this review I’ll have to bring you my thoughts on the production etc rather than going in to deep with the story of the short film.
Running at almost 13 minutes, Sundown looks stunning, the colouring of the short film has been done wonderfully, with the colours of not only the landscape and sky of the beautifully shot scenes but also the skin tones of for Frazer and Caitlin.
This makes the film a joy to watch, but adding to the delight of looking good, Sundown also has a soundtrack that sounds lovely, the music throughout the film works so well, giving the film a feeling of love and devotion to the high standards of producing a soundtrack and to flow throughout the story.

Heather Cranmer (2721 KP) rated Farmer Fisher in Books
Jun 7, 2018
(This review will be on my blog The (Mis)Adventures of a Twenty-Year Old Girl at the beginning of July).
I thought this was such a cute book! I enjoyed the rhyming, and even the story is interesting. We're left wondering if Farmer Fisher is ever going to make it to market! The story gets longer with almost every page. The illustrations are absolutely fantastic! You can tell the illustrator really took his time when it came to them.
This is a short story that will keep the little ones' attention. It is a cute story, well written, and the illustrations are beautiful! I'd say this is a book for all ages.
(I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review).

Lee KM Pallatina (951 KP) rated Hidden Agenda in Video Games
Jan 17, 2020
An unfortunate let down
Hidden agenda is a story about detective marney (katie Cassidy) who 5 years after capturing and arresting the infamous serial killer "the trapper killer" is thrown after the announcement that she may have arrested the wrong man...who is on death row with only 48 hours left...she has to be sure.
This game genuinely looked like a hit, with its dark, gritty tone, detective based story & quick time scenarios but was quickly derailed due to only being able to play by downloading a companion app and using a portable device (providing your device was able too - fyi old fire tabs don't 😕)
Once you have it, you will be prompted to add you name & choose a colour? As you can have friends join in too, but still need to if it's just you?
The story is incredibly short, even shorter if you make a wrong choice or are too slow to move your device pointer to a specific moving target, which from a I can assure you, can become rather infuriating.
Answering a phone call or video call WILL disrupt your game and you will be sent back to start all over.....Including adding your name and colour again.
Aside from that- great casting, great story, great graphics and this would make and absolutely fantastic live action movie.
