Such a lovely book of short stories! Each one had a feel good factor and I found myself either stifling a giggle or smiling by the end of them.
I haven’t read anything by any of the authors except for Katie Fforde but this book has definitely made me rethink that. Every single author had me absorbed in their few pages of story within the first couple of lines.
I would recommend this as a short read for anybody who wants to read something that will make them smile. It is also one that can be picked up and put back down easily with them being such short stories.
This book does exactly what it says on the cover… makes you smile!

"A collection of short stories that focus on the holidays in America and unpack the ridiculousness of so many universal but also intimate traditions. I tend to read part of it every holiday season and laugh very hard out loud each time."

This is a collection of four stories although the first one is my favourite. As always with short stories, there is a lot of information given and things happen very quickly but still this is a good collection! If you like dragons and fantasy/paranormal reads then I recommend this one.

Engaging and fairly motivational
This is a great book to read if you want something quick and easy, with short stories that are engaging without requiring a lot of effort. The majority of the stories are motivational, as they feature women in a variety of situations that pretty much all of us will have experienced at some point during our lives. The stories for the most part also feature a decent and moving message and are very well written. I did find some of the stories to be a little cliched and maybe a little condescending in the message they were trying to get across, but these were the exception and the majority of stories were enjoyable and motivating.

“Romance at short notice was her specialty.”

This was not what I was expecting. This appears on a list called "50 of the scariest short stories of all time" and this isn't' scary, it's a comedy. My rating is probably swayed because I was expecting something completely different to what I got.

Never mind, it was only 6 pages to read and it was still enjoyable.

Another collection of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes short stories, with this particular collection including the first mention of the 2 M'S: Sherlock's even-smarter (but lazy) brother Mycroft, and his arch-nemesis Moriarty.

This collection also includes (and ends with) the famous Reichenbach Falls short story, written when Conan Doyle was getting tired of the character, which was to leave so many readers desolate at the time of publication!
