Twin Crowns ( Book 1)
By Catherine Doyle & Katherine Webber
⭐️⭐️

Two sisters. One throne. Who will ultimately rise to power and wear the crown?

Wren Greenrock has always known that one day she would steal her sister’s place in the palace. Trained from birth to avenge her parents’ murder and usurp the princess, she will do anything to rise to power and protect the community of witches she loves.

Princess Rose Valhart knows that with power comes responsibility including marriage into a brutal kingdom. Life outside the palace walls is a place to be feared and she is soon to discover that it’s wilder than she ever imagined.

Twin sisters separated at birth and raised into entirely different worlds are about to get to know each others lives a whole lot better…

This was a tough read if I’m totally honest and I’d go to 2.5 ⭐️. There were several times I wanted to put it down and not pick it back up! But I did persevere and it was ok I like certain aspects of the book Tor and his beast were definitely a plus point but still I wasn’t totally hooked.

Dark Waters ( A Celtic Legacy book 1)
By Shannon Mayer
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sisters bound by love, separated by blood. . .

And doomed to face the unimaginable.

An everyday vacation quickly turns into a nightmare of epic proportions. Two sisters must struggle to find the strength within themselves to survive as well as to save one another. When the world of Fae emerges on a rocky shore far from the Emerald Isle, all hell breaks loose.

Two factions vie for the sister’s loyalties, one light, the other dark. Neither honest.

A series of events are set into motion that will not only test the bonds of sisterly love, but will defy belief and reality. Then you have found yourself deep in . . . “Dark Waters”.

Not quite sure how I actually feel after this book. It was ok and had an interesting take on the fae I was a bit put off by the “Irish accent “ and it seemed a little rushed at the end. But I’ll continue as it interested me enough to keep going. If only to see her hopefully punch Luke.

This is only my 2nd Baldacci book and I must say I am hooked! This one has sisters as its main characters. Beth Perrywho happens to be D.C.'s cheif of police and her sister Mace who is a former cop, but just got out of prison. The characters are well developed and interesting without being over the top...a Baldacci hallmark. The plot was fast paced and unpredictable. The story was wrapped up nicely, but still leaves you wanting more, but in a good way.
Ireally look forward to delving further into Baldacci's works.

Amazing WWII story (2 more)
Full of suspense
Did not expect ending
Kristin Hannah has truly captured the chaotic and no-so-perfect sister relationship. Being the oldest of three girls I can relate to this love/hate relationship between the two sisters. How life can lead everyone in different roads but at the end family is the one thing that will always bring you back. No matter what happens family will disappoint, bring you down, and build you up, all at the same time. Cannot wait to read more books by this author.

This is the second book I've read by Jane Corry.

I liked the first one, My Husband’s Wife, and I liked this one just as much.

The story is told between two timelines, 2001 and 2016 which can be confusing sometimes but it worked really well in this case.

Fantastic characters, including Kitty and Alison, two sisters with very different personalities; Fascinating plot with unpredictable twists. Very engrossing story!

I am looking forward to Jane Corry’s next release.

Thanks NetGalley and Penguin UK – Michael Joseph for the opportunity to read and review this fantastic novel.

Rolling Stone's 494th greatest album of all time
"Time to Pretend" is an amazing start to this album. Such an uplifting anthem.
The next couple of songs are forgettable Bowie-esque songs. Nothing wrong with them but nothing stands out about them.
"Electric Feel" is a good indie Scissor Sisters song, but is instantly forgotten as soon as "Kids" comes on. That is such a thumping anthem as well.
Sadly thereafter it is back to forgettable, Bowie-esque ditties. Some of these remind me of Liam Lynch's album of generally nonsense pop songs.
