"I performed this for a Prince tribute [at the BET Awards in 2010] at his request. He told me, ‘This is an uptempo [song] I think that you can really do; it’s part of your spirit.’ His affirmation brought tears to my eyes. ‘Let’s Go Crazy’ is a resistance song. It’s a song for those marginalized because of their skin color, sexual identity or gender. There will never be a wrong time to dance to it like nobody’s watching."

I have to say that The Forever Purge certainly keeps to the flow of the franchise, I did find it a little uneasy at times with its portrayal of how some people in society hate others for the colour of their skin, the country they are from and other ways that people can easily be so evil to fellow humans, but this is the idea of the film and getting that across works very well.

The closest we may ever get to a Biker Mice From Mars movie...

In all seriousness, Under the Skin is quite an experience. It's a film that leaves more questions than it answers, and is purposefully provocative in it's desire to explain a damned thing.
It has a jarring mixture of styles, alternating between almost amateur/hidden camera shots and visually stunning moments on a whim. It has plenty of beautiful vistas, and plenty of simplistic yet surreal moments when things get a little extra-terrestrial.

Scarlett Johansson puts in a solid performance as the mysterious being, managing to come off dangerous and vulnerable all at the same time, certainly sympathetic for a creature the audience know very little about. The climax of the film is hard to watch, and highlights the ugliness of the human race effectively, and the entire film is backed by an incredible music score.

I'm not going to pretend I fully understood Under the Skin, but it's truly otherworldly whilst feeling grounded in its Glasgow setting. A genuinely uncomfortable yet beautiful experience.

Hopkins and Foster deliver a suspenseful thriller about a serial killer who is helping the FBI in tracking down the daughter of a US senator who has been kidnapped by and unteachable serial killer. The solo interactions between FOster and Hopkins get under your skin cause they are so dark at times. Hopkins character leaves such and impression it makes us want more and the movie does spawn 3 more movies about Hannibal Lechters life

Dracoria Malfoy (690 KP) created a post

I've gotten a few people saying they'd like to see my poems, so... here's one! It's quite depressing.

It's called Poised.

She walked through the halls,
Her chin held high,
Yet sadness evident,
In her eyes.

She walked with poise,
An elegance, a grace.
And cold inexpression
On her face.

Because if she let go,
If she let her sadness,
And her weakness show,
She would fall apart,
Bit by bit,
Until there was nothing left
Inside her,

No soul in her skin.

Ok...so I am terrified of dolls and so this one and the other original one are like my worst nightmares. I hate dolls but I loved this movie. It was simply terrifying. It was a great addition to this series. I cant tell you how many times I got chills or jumped near out of my skin during this movie. All I can say is thank goodness I was at home because the theater people would have been mad at me lol...

This picks up where The Eye of the Storm ended. If you’ve wondered what happened to Lydia and her mates, then this short story begins to tell you just that. Lydia seems much more at home in her own (wolf) skin, but she still has a secret that she’s keeping from her mates. This was only an hour long read, but it was such a GOOD read! I’m really looking forward to more from the Surrey pack in the future!

Under the Skin is the kind of movie you either love or hate. The lack of explanation or even the lack of a coherent plot would shake up those who need everything in a film spelled out for them.

Scarlett Johansson doesn't overdo it in her performance and it fits this part well. Some may see her in a whole new way (no pun intended) when viewing this film is complete.

A must see for any true film fan.

"No filmmaker gets under my skin more consistently than Fritz Lang, and while M lacks some of the paranoid extravagance of his silent fantasies, it is flawless. Peter Lorre ingeniously incarnates the evolution from lizard to man, and the director’s every shot and sound underscores the excitement of cinema in the process of discovering its own power. One of the disc’s extras finds Claude Chabrol unsuccessfully attempting to mimic a Lang camera move. The new Criterion print, with a corrected aspect ratio and restored fade-out line, burnishes the film’s deathless vitality."

The prose of WE SHED OUR SKIN LIKE DYNAMITE is beautiful, thoughtful, and a complicated mess of life.
I fully expected the usual confessional poetry and was pleasantly surprised by the depth of many poems, which touch on subjects such as abortion, sex, and substance abuse. I found the word play interesting and alluring, while occasionally surpassing boundaries I wasn't aware existed. Though it's not my *favorite* collection, it's certainly a cerebral and fluid one, offering up a depth of experience difficult to find in these shallow modern poetic waters.
