Doctor Sleep is the sequel to ‘The Shining’. Following the life of Dan Torrance (the little boy from The Shining) the book quickly covers what happens after the events at the Overlook Hotel where Dan finds his lifestyle copying that of his alcoholic farther. His life starts to turn around when he arrives at a small town in New Hampshire where the now middle aged Dan finds a number of things; Help with his alcohol problem, A job in a nursing home, good friends and, with the help of his Shinning a child in need of help.
Doctor Sleep Focus’ on the power of the Shinning, what it can do and how it affects not only the people with the power but others around it. Unlike the first book ghost’s do not play a major part in most of the story, there is a bit in the beginning which ties up events at the Overlook but, although ghosts are mentioned they have been (Mostly) replaced by a group called The True Knot, a group of vampire like beings who feed off the Shining instead of blood. As Dan finds himself caught up with The True Knot he finds that he is being pulled back to the site of the Overlook.
A big part of the book is about how you can’t escape your past and that, until you accept your mistakes you will never really be able to move forward. It is also about acceptance and the fact that you are never really alone, that other people have experienced what you are going through and that they can help you get through life if you let them and it is about family, accepting the one you have but also find a new one, finding people who will accept you as you are but it is mostly about psychic Vampires and the power of the Shining.

Simple, easy to use but can be glitchy
The Fitbit itself is a marvellous piece of kit (I have the Charge 2), and the app really works well to present and manage the features.

The dashboard is simple but allows you to edit and only view the areas you care about. I love the fact that you can now view your detailed sleep patterns and a detailed heart rate monitor. It's also great that you can challenge friends and see how they're doing.

I also like that you can set alarms to use with your fitbit. The problem with this though is that I find the alarm screen to be a bit glitchy. Sometimes it won't sync when I save an alarm, other times I try to sync and instead some of my alarms disappear and I have to restart the app to see them again. There are also times when the app itself doesn't want to connect or sync properly.

Great review Sarah - I have the Fitbit Surge, and struggle to synch mine all the time too (especially when moving between time zones).

Does it live up to the hype?
After two years eagerly anticipating the release of this film, (I am a clown hater, but love to be scared) I took myself off to the cinema on opening night (of course) I admit, that in the dark theatre, pennywise' cartooney giggle, was scary, so much so, everybody in the cinema watched me instead of the film! I may be very unpopular with the next bombshell....it didn't live up to the original, and certainly not the book. It was too over-hyped, too Hollywood, and too glossy. If this was a free standing, one of a kind film, I'd have enjoyed it for what it was, but it was not good enough to replace the Tim curry clown I saw when I was 12, and still makes me cry at clown masks on Halloween.

Why such bad IMDB rating
I've had this on my watch list for a while but with IMDB only giving it 4 I was reluctant to watch it. I saw on here that it has much better reviews and thought I would give it a go.
A doctor tries helping a family who are all experiencing some kind of sleep walking and becoming dangerous. I liked the idea of that story. So this afternoon I have sat down and watched it. I do not understand why it got such low ratings on IMDB. I thoroughly enjoyed it, from the beginning of the film there was a lot going on, you begin to connect with the family and feel uneasy about what might happen. The acting in my opinion is really good, Maggie Q has a good role to play. I liked the story behind the film and I thought it all added up nicely. I think it was a strong film that has been really underrated.

As simple or detailed as you want it to be (2 more)
Easy to keep track
Can link to partners phone
Really useful
This app is really useful for keeping track of your cycle.

It is as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. You can track everything from allergies to sleep patterns to how your hair was that day. I love how you can choose which elements are the most relevant for you to track and you don't have to fill in all the sections every day.

It also let's you track past periods so you can see patterns like length of cycle etc.

There's also a handy feature that allows you to link your app to your partners phone so they don't have to ask whether you bit their head off because "it's that time of the month".

Generally I've found it really useful and I would highly recommend this app if you're looking for a way to monitor your periods.
