The protagonist in this book is Sylvia, a woman in her thirties with a partner who loves poetry and is always quite laid back, The Toddler – full of energy and wit, and The Baby – who is the reason of Sylvia’s sleepless nights.

Classic
Absolute classic. Very of its time. A spread of laughter and tears. Deborah Kerr at her best.
Everyone knows the tale of meeting at the top of the empire state building but I think people forget the full story. I certainly had and was moved all over again after revisiting this film after about 25 years!! Makes me want to watch sleepless in Seattle again!!

New Years Eve
A perfect Romantic Comedy for those who like dialog... Really nails the time period.... and a diner scene.
Way beyond quirky, but still interesting and relatable. This is one of those films that when it comes on TV I don't change the channel until the next commercial breaks the spell. It's great. For Meg Ryan, her best films are this one and Sleepless in Seattle.

A very good Rom-com re-uniting Tom & Meg again. They have done a few films together now including the similar Sleepless in Seattle. They have a great chemistry together on screen. This is well written and directed and quite funny too, without being too mushy. A kind of will they, won't feel to it, funny to see this was made when online chatrooms were just becoming quite popular. Worth seeing even if you avoid Rom-coms like your in-laws!

Yes! I HAVE A COPY! Thank the Lord for my awesome stepmom!
I finished this one really quickly thanks to some sleepless nights and I really enjoyed it. I don't get why Kristina's mother hated Sweden so much the mental images the descriptions conjured were beautiful. I love the historical details and how tomboyish Kristina is.
I just don't know what else to say about this book.
It was such a joy to read and I'll probably keep re-reading it like the others I own.
...
Still fun

Dean (6927 KP) rated Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019) in Movies

Ok scary tales film
I missed this at the cinema and caught on Amazon prime last night. I thought it was going to be an anthology of scary stories. It's more of a few mini tales set within the main plot of the whole film. I enjoyed it and at times it felt a bit like @Creepshow (1982) or @Trick 'r Treat (2007) The overall feel of the film was similar to a Stephen King short story. Only downside it isn't that scary, maybe why it got a PG-13 rating in the US. If you like ghost stories check it out but it won't give you sleepless nights.

Emma @ The Movies (1786 KP) rated Sleepless (2017) in Movies
Sep 25, 2019
As I said, it was a double feature day. I'd already got a ticket for later in the evening as there was an Unlimited screening of Sleepless starring Jamie Foxx. Something I learnt is that every Unlimited member in Bristol South seems to know everyone else... loads of people were walking in and being perky and asking after families and whatnot... I may skip the next one! Anyway, the film. It was really good. But word to the wise Jamie, you are not Steven Seagal, stop fighting people in kitchens. And Dermot Mulroney as a baddie? I don't know how I feel about that. It was a great action film though, not one of the best, but I will certainly be watching it again.
