Lumos (380 KP) rated Bellabeat Leaf in Tech
May 11, 2018
Like most fitness trackers, the Leaf monitors your steps, and sleeping patterns. You can use the app to track your water intake, meditation, and also monthly cycle. The app uses the information you input and creates a "stress readout" depending on what you have going on in which areas. I love that I can easily track these things and look back on past weeks to determine any patterns.
Unlike other fitness trackers, there is no screen on the Leaf. I know this bothers some people, but I am not using the Leaf as a Smart Watch. I like that I can check it on my phone and I'm not constantly updating things on my wrist all day. I check it once or twice a day and for the most part, I forget about it. It is not distracting to me in any way.
Awix (3310 KP) rated The Incredibles 2 (2018) in Movies
Jul 19, 2018
The thing is, for a Pixar film (and especially an Incredibles sequel) to be simply 'very good' is somehow not quite good enough, especially when they've had 14 years to work on it. The script sort of lets the whole thing down a bit - it's not quite as sharp or as tight as it needs to be, with a middle section that feels distinctly saggy. Apparently the release date was moved up by a year, which may explain why the film has this not-quite-completely-done air about it. It's a good, entertaining watch, but not as smart or as original as the first one; it never quite grabs the emotions, either.
Sarah (7798 KP) rated Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990) in Movies
Dec 22, 2019
The plot has been scaled up since the first film, and whilst it's missing the christmas and horror style setting, it more than makes up with the sheer daftness of the entire story. It's ridiculous but so funny, with some great physical effects with the Gremlins, especially as they get themselves into new and interesting situations. Seen as this was released in 1990 the CGI is a little dated but fortunately this is used sparingly. The original cast are back, with some wonderful additions in the marvellous Christopher Lee and Robert Picardo. I remember parts of this terrifying me as a child and whilst it doesn't have quite the same effect now, this definitely isn't a kids film! This entire film is just wonderfully smart, silly and just a riot from start to finish. Definitely underrated and overlooked when it comes to the Gremlins films, but for me a worthy sequel.
