The strangest by far was The adventures of Winnie!
Hey y'all! Just wanted to share something I learned a few weeks ago. Probably old news to some of you but I am thrilled. Did you know that you can get ebooks from your local library for free and download them to your Kindle or your kindle app? This way you not only get it free but you lose nothing if you don't like it. Plus it will give you more books to review on Smashbomb!
Happy hunting!
I just found that out today. Also there's a website called hoop-la that lets you get 3 items per month. books, movies, music for free with your library card.I use it for music only though but it is cool
Im new and looking to meet all kinds of ppl from all over the world. Laid back and just an over all chill kind of person. Chatterbox that has super hyper insomnia and am on all kinds of crazy hours. Huge bookworm and gamer of all sorts. I have an American Bulldog and an English Staffy and they make up the majority of my day. Proud mum of 2 boys who live in the US.
Originating from a discussion in our Bookworms orb, would anyone be interested in joining a Smashbomb book club?
Looking at reading one book a month from a variety of genres, which members can vote for using a poll. We can set up a new orb specifically for this, where we can then discuss each book every month.
Comment on this if you like the idea and if we get enough interest then I'll start setting things up ?
@Whatchareadin is an avid reader who likes to to read just about anything. She enjoys most genres, but steers clear of horror and anything with vampires, werewolves, or other supernatural things!
This isn't really a Dear Smashbomb advice post, more like an opinion poll...
What are everyone's views on alcohol? Do you drink a lot/too much/not a all?
I'm intrigued to know how everyone views alcohol. For me, whilst I can't say no to a nice glass of wine (or 2) or a cocktail, I don't like to get past tipsy or merry as I don't like the feeling of not being in control of my actions.
I don't care much what other people think. I do now have the reputation of the "non drinker", but it doesn't bother me. Sometimes it is amusing to be the sober one and see others make fools of themselves. Save those photos for when you really need them! ?
I'm not a big drinker at all, I maybe have one a year. The alcohol I like is on the more expensive side, and I don't like the feeling. I'm typically the designated driver in most cases. I do attend happy hours, but always just have a cup of water. I get made fun of a little, but I know it's part of the territory. It also doesn't help to come from a family with alcohol issues (extended, not nuclear).
'Bohan Reviews' is a brilliant looking movie review site. It has so much entertaining, yet informing content ranging from the very best, very worst and very much average films. Recommended for anyone!
From yesterday's discussions, we've decided one of the ways to help get people talking is to create specified lists of all sorts of items for different groups of people who may be in isolation. These can be from any/every category on Smashbomb - so we want to hear your ideas for what items should be put in these lists!
Not sure I could add much new to what has been said but for individuals and couples, seasonal tv shows (I.e. the traditional 22 episode season) as well as mini series events. People could come up with quiz questions for each episode of a show that you could search for.
'A Romance Reader's Reviews' is a brand new book review blog. Specialising in the field of romance <3 they review all sorts of books that fit! Recommended for anyone who loves romance!
