Weird
A odd series full of strange characters on vacation at a resort in Hawaii. The cast is impressive and scenery looks great. There just doesn't appear to be any real plot as such. More like a social commentary about people with money. Some funny moments but overall rather dysfunctional.

Great characters
Hooked from the beginning
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Although set in a future, one can see the headline issues of today wrapped up in a complicated film-noir private detective archetype. Something about hard-boiled crime and mystery supported by futuristic tech and commentary on the social elite really pulls me in.

Incredibly well written book proving Rowling's giftedness and diversity.
A brutal social commentary illustrating the complex issues surrounding class and problems that society doesn't know how to deal with. It reveals the selfish way humans attempt to shroud themselves protectively in ignorance, clinging to the pleasantries we manufacture in pretence that poverty, suffering and social malaise are not only a stones throw away.
Expect to be taken out of your comfort zone and confronted with stark reality exposing attitudes and prejudices within society and ourselves.

Reagan Elizabeth Grainger (288 KP) rated Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm (2020) in Movies

Pretty funny and disturbing
Sasha is amazingly talented and able to use Borats character first to make you laugh then feel a bit horrified as you are often laughing at racism that shouldn't even exist in 2020 nevermind in a free country. It is funny just a bit obvious in places but I'm willing to forgive it due to what is an important social commentary.
Tate (25 KP) rated Speaker for the Dead (Ender's Saga, #2) in Books

Absolutely incredible!
This sequel is highly underrated. If you loved Ender's Game then you'll love the next installment. Card wanted Speaker for the Dead to be his life's work and wrote Ender's Game almost as an after thought. There is so much character development and the social commentary is fascinating.
There are so many new characters to fall in love with and the same old genius Ender. The air of mystery is thrilling and makes this book nearly impossible to put down!
