I think Watchmen is a marvelous graphic novel about the idolization of heroes in society. We praise heroes, but what happens when they are not necessarily the good guys? Are you wrong for rooting for justice, rather than goodness?

Takes you for a ride
It's a seemingly accurate descent into total madness by a barely stable mentally unwell individual who was failed by everyone in his life including both society and personal folks.

"The explosion in the number of the elderly Americans will transform our society. This book shows us what we must do to ensure that the elderly and their caregivers—mostly immigrant women of color—can live with both dignity and respect."

"I came across this very special Italian film by accident late one night. A beautifully painful and heartbreaking statement on society at its coldest. A man and his dog trying to survive. Possibly my favorite of all the great Italian films."

Brutal, shackles swapped for handcuffs
Michael Eric Dyson's deeply troubling and brutal sermon on brutality against African Americans is haunting and powerful. A highly detailed account of horrific racism that occurs outside of the vacuum. It is a must read for contemporary society.

Shoplifter's biggest strength is its ability to accurately reflect the grayness of the parts of society that we would prefer to think of as black and white.

"I'm so drawn to Salinger's view of society back then, and to his sarcasm. I read Catcher in the Rye first, then [Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour]. I don't think there's ever been anything like these characters in American literature."
