CHILLFILTR (46 KP) rated Go On by Phillip Sandifer in Music
Jul 11, 2019
Phillip was born in Baltimore, Maryland but moved to Texas as a young man. He can take credit for 22 top 40 Adult Contemporary songs. He has made recordings for a number of different labels, including Disney Records. With Seen Too Much, he makes a much needed statement about cognitive dissonance in society today and maybe clears the air a bit for those of us paying attention.
“I ain’t sleeping well, there just too much wrong
won’t someone help me with an honest song”
— Phillip Sandifer
I think perhaps we have all seen a bit too much in these last few years. I'm glad there are people writing about it.
Awix (3310 KP) rated The War Game in TV
Sep 14, 2019 (Updated Sep 15, 2019)
Not as utterly horrible as Threads (itself inspired by The War Game), but still amazingly bleak, and given extra power by the juxtaposition of firestorms, depictions of radiation sickness, food riots, etc, with absurd contributions drawn from the actual words of 'experts', the government, and so on. Looking at this film you do feel slightly astonished that the world lasted as well as it did; perhaps this film played a small part in that.
Ducklady (1174 KP) rated The Cured (2017) in Movies
Oct 11, 2019
Starts out with an interesting concept of people who were infected with the "maze virus" becoming cured. The kicker is that they remembered everything they had done when they were zombies.
Everyone who was "cured" then becomes subject to abuse, fear and polarised from the rest of society. They are outcast and given undesirable jobs and required to report back to the military every day.
The unrest within the "cured" starts bubbling over and terrorist groups are formed.
The main characters are believable and all the acting is on point. highly recommend this movie, it has a lot of depth to it and cultural and social relevance
