Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Azure in Books
Jan 12, 2018
Society is perfect, or at least that is what the citizens of [Azure] are told daily. What they see and experience tells them otherwise. This futuristic novel is a modern day version of [1984]. The government wants to retain control and power so badly they are willing to sacrifice everyone. [Grant Palmquist] creates a eerie prospect of the future.

I loved how they found a sanctuary, but it was a pretty messed up story. I wasn't sure if the hidden things that were the reason for blindfolds were supposed to be brownies or some other supernatural being. It was a really good reality of how life could be when society does fall.
Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Death Magic (The Veil Chronicles, #2) in Books

This is the second book in the Veil Chronicles and it has a different perspective from the first although I feel the events run fairly parallel. You learn more about the society and even one of the characters from Wild Magic. It is all like pieces of a puzzle and I can't wait to fit them all together.
Jarom Solar Norris (177 KP) rated BlacKkKlansman (2018) in Movies

A really good movie all-around. It told a good story, had great characters and acting, good visuals, and above all, it was relevant and eye-opening. Anyone who cares about society ought to watch this movie just for the reminder that racism's height was not that long ago and it hasn't actually gone down much from there.

AmyBee (4 KP) rated Hitchhiker Trilogy: A Trilogy in Five Parts in Books

A scientifically important series of novellas.
The author makes many predictions of future technology which so far have all come true. He predicted the internet, search engines, handheld smartphone devices, GPS, sentient AI, and many other elements of today's society that he couldn't possibly have known about when this book was written.

Fantastic
A fantastic show of geniuses which highlight autism and the difficulties they face in everyday society.
A show that keeps you gripped on the emotional story line between characters and not only holds you through current events but have brilliantly shown the past of each characters without losing current events

I received a copy.ofThe Red Labyrinth from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
This book was brilliant! I really loved Zadie and her struggled of being a personal non grata in a society that values powers over anything.
Ugh, the Nadine story was absolutely heartbreaking and the stuff in the labyrinth was horrifying!
