First, can I just say that I LOVE this cover? I am honestly not even sure why as pink is not my color. But it pulled me in and made me want to read the book (great job to whoever designed it!). This is my first time reading a book by Betsy St. Amant and it will probably not be the last.

Based on the description I was expecting something a little romance, some yummy desserts, and to learn to see something in the unexpected. I did all of that, just not the way I expected to

ARGH!!! What is it with authors lately and cliff-hanger endings?!?! First the Gypsy Brothers series and now this one.

BUT I love Zeth. He's not your typical bad guy; he is the baddest bad guy who's sexy as hell and into some rather kinky stuff.

Yeah, erotica is not my favourite genre ever but sometimes...well I find the perfect blend of erotica and budding romance and that is this series. You can just tell that something amazing is going to happen between Sloane and Zeth.

Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I downloaded this 18 months ago, not long after receiving my first kindle, and I was obsessed with freebies. Since then I've read a lot of books and I now know my tastes a lot better.

This wasn't to my liking.

I thought it would be some retelling of a fairy-tale but it wasn't quite like that. I'll admit it was rather imaginative, plot-wise, but it didn't grab me as much as I'd have liked. The best bit for me was the slight romance between Mina and Brody.

It could also do with a little editing.

I’ve not actually read Summer at the Comfort Food Cafe, but I was happy when I realised that this could easily be read as a standalone novel – there were only a small amount of moments when I felt like I was missing some information that came from the main novel.

It’s only a very short book, but that made it all the better for me because I prefer reading short stories over Christmas than trying to dig into a really big novel, just because I struggle for time over Christmas.

The characters were all brilliant. I loved Becca because I know people with the same attitude over Christmas as her, so it made me laugh a bit seeing people I know as Characters in a book.

It was a cheesy festive romance, and there were a few parts where I wasn’t too sure on how far the novel was going to go, but thankfully it balanced out the romance with the plot really well.
