The Marinated Meeple (1853 KP) rated Peaky Blinders - Season 1 in TV
May 9, 2018
Great Gangster TV
I really enjoyed this series, and liked following the characters. I love the idea of razorblades in the hats as not only a signature but as a threatening omnipresent thing. Turning something benign into something sinister. The show has some odd pacing, where it seems to come in spurts, but that also seems to up the tension and you don't know when to expect things sometimes. Great TV, worthy of binge watching

Plot holes
This book follows the story of survivors of what appears to be a major terrorist attack. It's suspenseful but sometimes feels forced. It's not something I think i will ever pick up again but it's an enjoyable enough read for someone who is a fan of Stephen King. There are many elements to the story that make it clear that this book fits well within the standard "King" writing style.

Good selection of series and films. (2 more)
Good for original shows.
Good for keeping up to date on the latest releases.
Doesn't always have the full film series which can make it hard to watch some things. (2 more)
Doesn't have enough of an anime section for me, needs to add more.
A series doesn't always have a trailer which means you sometimes have to watch it to find out you don't like it and feel like it's a waste of time.

Cute frames (4 more)
Can add location info to each photo if wanted
Can decide who, specifically gets to see each photo
Alerts you if someone screenshots your photo (unlike Instagram, where a private profile is only as private as the friends you allow on it let it stay...sometimes, that's a really bad feature of Instagram)
Temp stickers are definitely fun when sending photos whining about the weather to friends and family across the country

Patrick Williamson (6 KP) rated Mort in Books
Mar 29, 2018 (Updated Mar 29, 2018)
His best book IMO
An early ish Discworld book and the first to introduce Death.
Because of the vast number of Discworld books written there is a lot of crossover in the later books and a lot of folklore building. The actual stories sometimes suffer for this but not in Mort. It works as a standalone as well as part of the series.
I'm so glad and lucky to have a signed copy.
RIP Terry Pratchett.

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated The Girl at the End of the World in Books
Feb 24, 2018
It was a good dystopian fiction. I like how the female was a very strong protagonist. Most fifteen year olds I know would not survive so it seemed a bit unrealistic in that was because she was not a prepper family. That did not distract from the story though. It was well paced and had a good flow. It was a stand alone novel not part of a series and sometimes we need those in our reading lives.

ashezbookz (32 KP) rated Ace of Shades (The Shadow Game, #1) in Books

Not really my favourite - I felt it was very slow, mind numbingly slow - it took me ages to get through for that reason. It picked up the last day and got more exciting, but still, could not make up for the 9 days prior. It was interesting in ways, gambling is fun to read about sometimes and Levi was a great read - I didnt mind Enne most of the time though the denial was a bit much.

Weeding through the links that don't work (1 more)
A site needs a good image to pin. Sometimes you come across something you want to pin that has no image and can't be pinned.
Ideas Galore
I don't know what we did before Pinterest. It is a place for you to organize and share all of your internet finds- crafty, educational, shopping, whatever. You "pin" it to a board so you can easily find it again.

Auburn (57 KP) rated How to Flunk Magic in Books
Jun 21, 2019
I read this through Kindle Unlimited. Its a fun read of magic going wrong. This book reads like how I imagine a real life witch would handle magic. Not everything will go right and you have to learn to be yourself. Plus the boy was swoon worthy.
My only problem is that it is very British. The terms and writing are sometimes very difficult to understand.
Should you try it: Do you enjoy magic that goes horribly wrong?
