"A total classic from George Lucas, pre Star Wars. It's the start of pop culture going retro, as it created a whole kind of rock & roll revival with records being reissued and that double LP soundtrack being released. It's the past informing the present so it's important in terms of pop culture and teen films. It influenced a couple of other movies that we're going to talk about later. And I love the music – 'I Only Have Eyes For You' and all those tunes. Fantastic."

In Search of Darkness Part II carries the same vibe and structure as the first, but separates itself by including some really obscure titles. Any documentary that touches on Cellar Dweller deserves kudos...

Once again, its features a wonderful selection of interviews with genre heavyweights and cult favourites over its 4+ hour runtime (a highlight being an extended segment with Tetsuo director Shin'ya Tsukamoto), a slick presentation brimming with archive footage, and another Weary Pines soundtrack that just slaps.

An absolute must for any horror fan.

"London. The swinging ’60s. But not for these broke actors, who have just left drama school. To break the monotony of the phone never ringing, they make the fatal error of leaving London for “a charming weekend in the country.” Gay uncles, disgruntled farmers, terrifying poachers, and lots and lots and lots of alcohol ensue. Hang on for the ride. Richard E. Grant has never been better. Paul McGann plays it straight and anchors the whole thing. The soundtrack is wonderful. Must watch with alcohol."

"Monsieur Hulot is clumsily precise; the silence and precision of the gags are avant-garde. When the vacation ends in this film, you’re left feeling like you’ve met a good friend. Fishing with John can be watched on so many levels at the same time. It avoids becoming too meta and relishes all of the facets of friendship, comedy, and good old-fashioned fishing. The soundtrack alone transports us back to the calming, hilarious alternate universe of John Lurie’s brain: “They woke up with sores and boners.”"

Cute
I don't know what else to say about this film other than it was cute. I thought the animation was nice and the soundtrack wasn't half bad, but the characters were annoying. Honestly, the robin was the best part because she just cooed. I didn't think Charming was all that interesting or attractive (lol) and it was even more odd to hear Wilmer Valderrama and Demi Lovato feign love, especially as exes.

Also, I'm surprised they got the licensing to use Disney characters. Anyway, cute.
