A charming story
A lovely, magical book about a swan that crashes through Mitzi's flat window during a storm, and then at dusk turns into a young woman. This is a reworking of the Swan Princess/ Swan Lake, or rather a 'what would happen if her spell lasted for over 100 years'?
The Princess, Odette, is naive, even though she is over 100 years old (being a swan for half of your time and living in the woods on your own, will do that to a person, I suppose), and adjusting to life in the modern age is quite hard for her. She is adamant that she needs to find a man to love her to break the spell, and Mitzi just wants to protect her and help her where she can.
I really enjoyed this story, which is rich in magical realism. The contrast of old magic and modern British life, made it on the whole quite believable, really!
Many thanks to The Pigeonhole for the chance to read this story on their social platform!

The Grimm family is on the edge of finally freeing Sabrina and Daphne's parents from the sleeping spell they are under. Meanwhile, their friend the Big Bad Wolf is being tried for his crimes. This entire series is lots of fun, and it provides some nice twists to the familiar fairy tale characters. Aimed at kids, any adult will enjoy it.

I'm pretty sure this took place before the Steel and Stone series? But if so, i dont remember our envoy being mentioned in it, but i could be wrong as i think i was pretty much only really interested in Ash and Piper's relationship.
Never the less, i did enjoy reading more of Lyre--and Ash made a few appearances--as he was always an intriguing character with his amazing spell weaving.
I look forward to reading the rest of this trilogy very soon.

The third entry in Sam Raimi's Evil Dead trilogy, a complete tonal shift from the previous two.
And, in my opinion, all that much better for it.
This is the one with Bruce Campbell's Ash transported back to the 1300s, into the middle of a war between two feuding kingdoms, and now looking for a way to get home this own time.
Ash being Ash, he - of course - mucks this up somewhat, reading the wrong spell and waking the army of the dead.
Comedy horror, basically.

Ready For Book Two
Can I start by asking, "When does the second book come out?! This retelling of King Midas surpassed all my wildest expectations and then some. This spin was written rather creatively and I found myself enjoying this adventure full of pirates, first loves and curses. I will tell you that I was shocked and caught off guard by some startling revelations and I eagerly await with anticipation for the next book. Kudos to this author's storytelling and spell weaving as I fell in love with the web she spun!

This was a little like an after story; a continuation of Kou and Yoshioka but also showing the relationship between two other characters that had been a long time coming--I wish I could remember how to spell their names!
There were also two other chapters in here: one showing a pizza sharing scene between Kou and Yoshioka and one that showed Kou when he was younger during/after the divorce when he moved to Nagasaki.
Nice ending to the series. Recommend to people who like romances and comics/manga.

Simply Enchanting
"Look with your heart. Look with your mind."
I just finished reading WinterDream and I'll start by saying that author Chantal Gadoury is truly gifted as her fairy tales are always created with a magic spell that captivates me from beginning to end. This storyline was beautifully flawless and her characters leaped out of the pages and invited me into the magical world of WinterDream were I felt all the emotions that were written on each page and fell further in love with the Nutcracker.
If you are looking for an immersive holiday tale then look no further as this story is simply enchanting
