Merissa (13782 KP) rated Caelon (Rocky Mountain Pack #3) in Books

Caeolon knows Selene is his mate, but she is only seventeen, so he worships her from afar. And, yeah, okay, there might be a little stalking involved, but the good kind of stalking. Know what I mean? Anyway, Selene is nearing her eighteenth birthday and feels drawn to Caelon, even if she isn't completely sure why. She is having dreams and finding sweet gifts, which she finds thoughtful, not threatening.
These two were so good together. I mean, seriously! It is a cosy story, though, even with some spicy moments, so don't expect too much. I would have liked a little more back story about Caelon's family before he spilt the beans to Selene, but it worked as it was. I loved how protective Selene was of him, of her mate who so obviously adored her. This only became clearer as the story moved on.
A perfect pair that I loved and read in one sitting. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this story, and give it 4.5 out of 5.

At first glance, this is an enemies-to-lovers story, but it is so much more than that. Both Luther and Onyx are glad the war is over and want peace. Luther is suffering from PTSD/survivor's guilt and trying to drown it out through drinking and exhaustion. Onyx leaps to the wrong conclusions and their relationship is strained at best. I was honestly counting down the pages until the first breakthrough in their relationship as I wanted it to work out between them SOOO badly!
It has a steady pace that will keep you turning the pages. All of the characters evolve in many ways, especially Luther and Onyx. I did enjoy seeing Ash and Barrett again and was happy that they were happy. There are some topics here that might make some readers uncomfortable, addiction for example, as well as the PTSD and survivor's guilt. It was also spicy in places, with Onyx and Luther showing little Dom/sub streaks.
All in all, this was a great read that kept me turning the pages. I loved this story and can't wait to return to Gerard and Elias' story. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.

The contents of this cookbook include Soups, Mains, Street Food Favorites, Sides and Desserts. Deborah Schneider gives us a wonderful introduction with tips for using a slow cooker, using chilies and kitchen basics. I have already made the Enchiladas Suizas with Shredded Chicken. In one word it was: Divine! I am most excited to try Burrito Ahogado ("Wet" Burrito), Tamales with Carnitas and Chicken and Cheese Enchiladas with Salsa Verde. I enjoy reading the descriptions and notes for each section and recipe. Deborah gives us information and history regarding Mexican cuisine, tips about the ingredients used as well as substitutes and modification ideas. Most of the recipes do require more work than simply turning on the slow cooker and leaving it all day. But it takes a lot of the stress out of preparing a Mexican dish. For a lot of the recipes the meat is cooked in the slow cooker and then you must put the finishing touches on the particular dish. I am excited to have this in my arsenal of Slow Cooker Cookbooks. I know without a doubt that it will be one of my most used.
I received a free print copy of The Mexican Slow Cooker from the publisher through Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
