This was a very interesting story. it is apparently the spin-off of another series by Phoebe but you didn't have to read that series to understand this one. Some of the characters I did feel like there was a background I didn't know but it wasn't confusing or interfeering with the story for me. I loved these characters and I loved Paisley because she was a big, strong, amazing woman who had some insecurities and a dark past that Calvin had to fight to get through. He was amazing and strong and wonderful and sexy. I loved this story

To Covet The Fae is the first book in the spin off series, The Kincaid Wolves. As such, it involves characters and places that we have already met. Although you could read this as a standalone, to get the full benefit I would recommend reading the Deathless Night series first. Plus the fact, they are wonderful books so it will be no hardship, I assure you.
Heather is Grace's friend and has come with her from China to Seattle. However, there is more to her than meets the eye as Brock finds out when she is taken unwillingly to meet with "the Prince". Through certain machinations, Brock and Heather find themselves separated in a different dimension, with only the toss of a coin to guide them.
This is well-written, with no editing or grammatical errors. However, as the first of a series, even a spin-off, there is a lot of groundwork that has to be laid. Also, it helps to provide the build up to the future books. This looks like it is going to be a series just as hot as the Deathless Nights, and so I have no hesitation in recommending it!
* I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review. *

Too many slow episodes (1 more)
Not what I expected
Disappointing
This looked interesting, a spin off series from silence of the lambs set a few months later.
It's all over the place with some very good episodes but far too many slow rather dull episodes. Rather than tracking serial killers as you might expect this covers many areas of the FBI. The main plot running through the series is of some murders to cover up the results of a drug trial of a major company. It goes off track at times and can be hard to follow. More due to lack of interest. The ties to the Silence of the lambs which pop up tend to be the best episodes.
Overall not a very gripping storyline make it slightly disappointing.

Little to no relation to previous games
Short and small, but still pretty sweet.
Despite being just an incredibly short spin-off of the Assassin's Creed series, and having only 3 very small maps, this game is a highly enjoyable one!
The story is enjoyable, if somewhat unoriginal, with some definite similarities to ACIII, revolving around saving slaves and killing the slavers. The story also shows very little relation to previous games, except from a cameo from an ACIII character, and the obligatory weird glowy item that adds little to nothing to the story apart from adding a few missions.
Despite all this, the story is extremely enjoyable!
The gameplay is incredibly fun and pretty fast paced, visiting swamps, towns and Mexican colonies, leaving the played wanting more, and to learn more about what happened to the main character after the game.
Overall a great game that definitely deserves to be more than a spin-off.

David McK (3752 KP) rated Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm (1993) in Movies
Jan 29, 2024
Spin-off/prequel from the 90s TV show "Batman: The Animated Series", which comes across as more mature than that Saturday morning cartoon, and which sees Batman implicated in a series of brutal murders of various gangsters.
This also has several flashback sequences to when Bruce Wayne first donned the mask, and to a pre-Joker Joker (although no sign of Harley Quinn here, understandably) and to a lost love of Bruce Wayne's life.
Despite not showing up until roughly the half way mark, Mark Hammill also shows why his interpretation of the clown prince of crime stands as one of the very best (and almost steals the entire show from both Batman and The Phantasm)

Fall off in form - more of a set up for Season 3....
I enjoyed the first series of this Trek spin off so went into season 2 hoping for a lot. It managed to tackle some of the troublesome storylines but it felt like the characters had lost some of the punchyness that made the first series shine.
In this series we get a lot of Spock (not entirely sold on the acting of Ethan Peck) who must face his past along with his estranged sister Michael Burnham. As well as Captain Pike (played very well by Anson Mount) taking control of Discovery to investigate a series of odd red signals that have being appearing across the universe.
Stories involving time travel are often problematic and unlike the Series 1 mirror universe storyline the time travel aspect in this was clumsy. The AI threat was also not that thrilling for me and left too many questions unanswered.
There seemed to be a much more mopy, exploring feelings and relationships, feel to this series that I think that let it down. The action was great but characters seemed to feel it was necessary to have a heart to heart in the middle of a time critical mission - GET ON WITH IT FFS!!!
