I thought that Veiron had stolen my heart but it appears that it is split in two and Asmodeus holds the other part! I will say that feisty, stubborn Liora is Asmodeus' perfect match. These two actually work together to move forwards. They know when they have hurt the other and take steps to say sorry or repair whatever damage may have been done. The interaction between these two is just perfect, whether it is witty or flirtatious banter or whether it is deep, soul-searching.

Erin and Veiron are also in this and continue to show just how wonderful they are together. I still love Erin's attitude and how she won't bow down to the male in her life but instead meets him toe-to-toe.

Amelia and Marcus also show up but Marcus appears to be more and more 'ghostly' as the series moves on. He is just fading into the background which is a shame whereas Amelia still feels that instead of the original angel, she is the ultimate matchmaker but no one is good enough.

Tears, laughter, sexiness - it's all here. I can't not give it 5 stars!

ps, does anyone know where I can get a couple of my own hellhounds? Romulus and Remus are brilliant!!!

The third book in the series features Famine, otherwise known as Fami. Apart from Death, he is probably the busiest horseman but he seems to concentrate more on Africa, although he does go to different places too. Ekundayo has stolen a diamond from the mines in Botswana, but injures himself in the process, resulting in a visit by Death, who then instructs Famine on where to go. Famine rescues him and takes him back to his treehouse near Victoria Falls, where Death plays Devil's Advocate in telling Famine to leave Ekundayo alone and not tell him anything. The twist in this book isn't that Famine needs to forgive himself. He feels that he did nothing wrong as he was sacrificed by the village shaman to bring rain. Instead, he has to forgive the shaman instead.

This book is slightly different from the other two, in how Famine may return to being mortal, in the fact that he and Ekundayo argue and split up, going their own ways.

Still well-written and with few grammatical errors that I found, it has a smooth pace and leads nicely onto Death's book. I am also hoping that we will find out more about Lam and why he not only smells of Christmas but also of sulphur! Definitely recommended.

There aren’t many books that make me laugh out loud, but The Split did just that - and more than once. It doesn’t seem like it’s going to be a book with much to laugh about. I mean, Ally is dumped by her girlfriend who is already seeing someone else, she’s having a career crisis after managing to escape teaching, and she moves back in with her dad in Sheffield - which is a long way from London. At the last minute, Ally impulsively takes the cat - Emily’s cat. I think this surprises Ally too, as the cat doesn’t seem to like anyone, least of all Ally.

So not the cheeriest subject, but the way it was written - and the narration by Imogen Church - was what made me empathise with Ally. And the situations Ally found herself in were so relatable. I felt really mean laughing at her and Jeremy going out for their first few runs, but they were hilarious (and I’ve been there too!).

I even found myself talking to Ally (should I own up to this, and the fact that I was wearing headphones at the time?!), and was helpfully reminded by the 17 year old, that telling a fictitious character not to email her ex-girlfriend was pretty pointless. I stand by what I said though!

I loved this book, and it brightened my day for a week of dog walks and (the dreaded) dinner preparation!
Recommended!
Many thanks to Quercus for my original e-copy (even though I listened to it on Audible!).

GRINCH KISSES is the first book in a new multi-author seasonal series called Christmas Falls, the town where all the stories are based.

In this one, we have Griff, also known as Grinch, who is the lead Event Planner for the Christmas celebrations the town is known for. Logan is Griff's sister's friend and agrees to play fake-boyfriend to keep her loving parents off her back after she split up with her actual boyfriend. Griff and Logan meet and it's fireworks!

What an introduction! First of all, although the town sounds great, it also sounds a bit much for me! LOL I'd probably give Griff a run for his money for that nickname. Still, the world-building was good enough that the town came alive, along with its inhabitants.

The angst in this book is completely believable - from Logan's desire to fit in, longing to stay, and fear of being rejected, to Griff's behaviour in protecting himself. I also loved how the situation with his kids took work and time. There wasn't a magic wand that suddenly made everything okay.

A fantastic start to a new series that I thoroughly enjoyed and can't wait to return to. If you love Christmas and pure romance, then this is definitely the book for you.
