The Walking Dead - Season 9
The Walking Dead - Season 9

A slight improvement over season 8
The revelation of the Whisperers to me was an outstanding moment. The split second when a tense but fairly standard fight against a herd of zombies suddenly flipped on its head was fantastic. I have re-watched that scene a number of times. The remainder of the series was a slight step up from the previous one, but with still some issues around pacing (do we really care about crop rotation?!). I think the writers had learned their lesson over the build up of the next enemy - we were quickly introduced to the whisperers, when the introduction to the saviours dragged on and on.
The TV series is rapidly catching up on the comics though, which is a slight worry.

Brilliant actors! Brilliant script! (0 more)
A little farfetched of a story to follow.. A meteor crashing to earth and it gets split in half... (0 more)
Brilliant! Utterly brilliant!
So I admire the writers and directors for this movie almost as much as the actors and actresses. Despite absolutely remarkable performances the storyline for me was a little bit of a long shot. The whole plotline of splitting a meteor in half with a bomb and it perfectly going either side of the earth. I mean come on!

That being said, the performances from actors like Bruce Willis, ving rhames and Ben Affleck all brought this film to life.

As for the soundtrack, it went down in history almost straight away as one of the greatest power ballads to date.

I enjoyed this book, especially the way it was split between before, Moonbeam’s experience during her time with the Lords Legion and after, her time with the doctors recovering from the ordeal.

I read this book very quickly as it was for my book club so I didn’t give much thought to what was coming as I didn’t really stop, however others said it was quite predictable and guessed what was coming.

For me the ending was very disappointing as it didn’t seem realistic given the events of the book and was just too neat and happy.

I found Moonbeam a bit annoying at times but overall she was quite a realistic character as she had flaws which were shown throughout the story.

I was looking forward to this book as I had waited a while to wait for the conclusion of the series. I love mainly everything about this book but I feel like Aelin gave up far to much and them forging the lock was a bit anti climatic. I also feel like the ending was a bit rushed and could maybe of been better if it was split into two. I did expect a death but feel like Graviel dying was a bit unnecessary, there was so many opportunities to kill someone else off!
However overall I did enjoy the book and really hope she doesn't end the series here as I would love to see what happens with the court and how Aelin rebuilt everything.

Superb as an Audio-book
A brilliantly narrated audiobook with a full cast creating an immersive experience. Listening to this came across as you would expect a very well produced radio documentary into the history of a significant band.

Following the rise and the split of a 70s band, we get multiple POVs from band members and those around them recounting the history of the band. It was all very believable, almost too much to the point that it was rather predictable because it so easily could be true. I’m not sure this would have done much for me if I’d read the book but it would of certainly of been a unique reading experience; I was easily caught up in the audiobook.

Greatest Hits by Laura Barnett was a fictional book about a band/ singer - I don’t know whether you’ve read it? A singer called Kathryn Williams recorded all the songs into an album with the authors blessing - the book was fantastic! It was about the rise of a band and their inevitable fall. Each chapter began with the lyrics of the song, and being the geek that I am, I listened to the song on Spotify 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

No I haven't read that, but it sounds like fun to be able to listen to the songs along the way 😊
