AJaneClark (3975 KP) rated Pucked Off (Pucked #5) in Books

Pucked Off is the story of the sweet and haunted Lance and sports physio Poppy. Lance met Poppy when he was at his lowest, recovering not only from a sports injury playing ice hockey, but also when he was struggling to recover from the emotional abuse that seemed to follow him through his life.
Whilst this is predominantly part of a comical and erotic driven romance series, there is something sweet about this edition to the series. It allows this kind genuine man, surrounded by his "family" of ice hockey players and their partners, getting the girl of his dreams, a girl who will nurture and support him even on his darkest days. But will it be smooth running? Will it be a happy ending?
Helena Hunting again demonstrates her sense of humour and wickedness with Pucked Off, leaving the reader in stitches whilst their heart melts. Really enjoyed this story and couldn't think of a cuter pair!

Hockey and Affairs of the Heart
Ice Hockey (check) Romance (check)
This book made me chuckle aloud. It had heart warming, sometimes eye rolling moments and love.
As Elise's brothers best friend, and team mate, Elise is very much off limits to Justin, but their mutual attraction and long harboured crushes might just be worth the risk. A drunken night leads to a secret relationship with the potential to change everything.
This light hearted, steamy read is an instant page turner. The characters are likeable, the dialogue is far from cheesy and the hot moments are HOT!
As a sports romance lover, I would recommend to anyone with similar reading tastes.

Friends to Lovers
The second book in the Rules of the Game series features Alex and NHL ice hockey player Cole, who has been attracted to Alex from the start.
Alex is a paediatrician, who finds out her fiancée Marcus has been sleeping around. She confronts Marcus, gets the facts and then leaves.
Alex becomes friends with Cole, and over the duration of the book, the friendship becomes love. When Marcus finds out about the friendship he tries very much to get in the way.
This is an entertaining read, watching the development of friendship becoming more, with some heart warming moments. Its a quick and easy read for sports romance lovers. Cole is a likeable character, and you cant help but feel for Alex after her history with Marcus.

First Read of the Year
258 Pages
Kindle Edition
This light and at times steamy kicked off the start of 2021 with a bang (of bodies hitting the boards, and the clashing of hockey sticks as pucks hit the ice)!
Austen hosts a popular online section for the Dallas Devils, going on "dates" with the players and introducing them to the fans... All went well until it was the turn of jock Dane, an athlete with a reputation for disliking the media and being a fan of the puck bunnies!
What follows for the duo with a great deal of chemistry, is a bumpy road which threatens to impact both of their careers and their relationship!
The first in the Dallas Devils series, and Winters does not disappoint with this contemporary sports romance. It was an easy read with a great deal of depth, well paced and oozing chemistry.
The story progression worked well with Winters' writing style, with added drama from a historical back story which is explained in further books, and a great antagonist.
Hoping book 2 is just as interesting!
