Rowan Atkinson returns as MI7 spy Johnny English, in a film that is less farcical than the original; more a pastiche of a classic James Bond film (take your pick which), complete with gadgets galore.

Amusing enough, but nothing special.

When Ben gets kicked out of spy school, he accepts an offer to attended SPYDER’s spy school instead. It’s an undercover assignment to find out what their next evil plan is. At least, Ben hopes that’s the case. Since he is cut off from everyone but he new fellow students, can he learn SPYDER’s plans and share them with someone else in time?

Because the setting is different, we don’t get quite as much from the usual supporting characters, but the news characters are just as great. The plot moves forward at a steady pace until the final third, when it kicks into high gear. Add in a nice dose of humor, and you’ve got a wonderful new adventure for Ben and his fans.

I really enjoyed the film and the Mickley taking of other spy movies. The characters are good and overall the story is great. The ending was perhaps a little OTT but I think that was the point.

Maggie Hope gets her first assignment for British secret service - go to Windsor Castle and act as Princess Elizabeth's tutor all while looking for any evidence that there is a plot on her life. Maggie has hardly arrived when someone is murdered. Was the princess the target? Once again, this was a fun World War II spy novel, and I enjoyed spending time with Maggie. However, some editing glitches and a very familiar sub-plot did bother me some.
