Secret Beach Boyfriend in the newest installment from The Independence Island Series (book 3) and it did not disappoint! It can be read as a standalone. Kari Trumbo is a new to me author and I enjoyed her writing style. She brought more of the Merriweather Islands to life with great descriptions and new friends!
I loved Annie and Rafe, their chemistry was fun, engaging, and well laid out. Kari Trumbo covered some tough topics with them and integrated them in a compelling and straightforward way. From a dysfunctional family to OCD I enjoyed the dynamics of the characters and the interesting plot. A great addition to The Independence Island Series.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars for the creative characters, the emotional tugs, and for pointing the reader back to Christ.
*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

Full of action, suspense, gritty scenes and loads of tension, this is a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed despite this being the third instalment of this series but the first I have read. It does work as a standalone but I think it would be even better had I read the other 2 beforehand.

The characters are strong, as are the storylines which made things fast-paced and interesting which had me totally immersed from the start. The writing style is easy to read and although told from different points of view, I didn't find it hard to keep up and, in fact, felt this enhanced my reading experience.

The only thing I have to complain about is myself!! Why haven't I come across the first 2 in the series before? I must have been walking around with my eyes closed!

Thank you to Orion Publishing Group and NetGalley for my advance copy in return for an honest, unbiased and unedited review.

Epically corny monster mash. When Godzilla suddenly seems to become hostile to the human race, Monarch recruits Kong to lead researchers to the hollow earth in pursuit of a new energy source that will allow them to defeat the giant lizard. But just what has got the Big G so riled?

Scores extremely heavily on the garish spectacle front, with monster rasslin' aplenty and some eye-catching visuals (although it does feel like the earth's core is next door to the uncanny valley). However, the film is often critically under-exposited and many of the plot devices and developments are frankly nonsensically. Various actors do their best not to get overshadowed by the special effects, usually to no avail, Kong gets more screen-time than Godzilla, the new design of a classic Toho monster is rather decent, and the various fights are thumpingly effective. Not as good as either the last Kong or Godzilla standalone movie, but reasonably effective goofy blockbuster fun nevertheless.

Hot, steamy, instant attraction.....

Possible spoilers

Everly is a strong independent woman, she's had to be with the past that she's had. She's also a phenomenal drummer who has hidden depths, even from herself.
I enjoyed following her journey of discovery and seeing things unfold between her and Cristaldo (which was pretty damn hot).
I would, however, have liked to have experienced Everly's initial transformation with her and seen how she reacted to her wolf and see her dealing with how different life was about to become.

I'm glad that this is only the beginning of what I'm sure will be a fantastic series. I think it shows werewolves in a slightly different way to what has been about for a while.
As a bonus, if you're a standalone lover then this is perfect as the ending doesn't involve a cliffhanger. However, you can totally see that there is much more to be discovered...... Cristaldo is a twin so......

Who doesn't need a strong, sarcastic, gun toting partner to have their back??

Warning: contains suicide and references to baby deaths/abortion.

Although this is third in, what looks to be, an interesting series it can easily be read as a standalone. There's a little back story on Zack Bolder, our main character, which is woven throughout this story.
I like that we're taken to Australia, it makes a change from the usual backdrops.

I found Zack Bolder likeable with a well written character.....a good depth to him without feeling as though you might drown. And Wellbeck, the strong, sarcastic detective, is quite an interesting character.
The working/personal relationship Bolder has with Wellbeck is just as good, they interact well together, bounce ideas off of each other and have each others back.

With adult themes throughout (not to mention creepy demons etc) I would recommend this for a more mature audience.
