A brilliant sci fi comedy
I initially slept on this, and didn't watch it for a really long time, and I'm so sorry I did! It's the perfect spoof of Star Trek, while also being it's own, brilliant story, which is surprisingly in-depth.
If you're a star trek fan, it's excellent... If you're a science fiction fan, it's also excellent. Basically, just watch it, and enjoy.

Sweet coming of age movie plus road movie dakota fanning is brillant as wendy who has autism and living in a care home who is also a massive star trek fan who decides to write star trek story for a competion. Overall great movie with support from alice eve and toni collette thumbs up

Second entry (of, currently, three) in the so-called Star Trek Kelvin timeline, with the crew (including Zachary Quinto's Spock and Chris Pine's Kirk) on a mission to capture a renegade Star Fleet officer (played by a pre MCU Benedict Cumberbatch) who - despite all the pre-release denials - everybody *knew* would have links to the past of the original cast.
Especially with the poster.
Worth a watch - all the Kelvin timeline movies are - but, IMO, not as good as Star Trek.
