Between this and the similarly experimental delirium of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘉𝘊𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩, I'm convinced that Ant Timpson is onto something - I'm fine standing alone in really buying into his brand even though no one else seems to. I have the same major gripe here that I did with the latter movie though... cool it with the sex stuff, bro. It's funny a fair amount of times but not when it seems to be the only thing going on time after time after time after you'd already abandoned the enticing mystery of the first half way too abruptly. Otherwise this was awesome, the type of kooky but oh-so-lurid genre-bender that we used to see a lot of from 2011-2014 but sort of just dropped right off the planet at a certain point. One mega-mack daddy of a twist, rich visuals, a solid sense of humor, and all grounded by Elijah Wood's next-level performance (and intrinsically hilarious haircut). The first half is exquisitely tantalizing but it admittedly loses steam in the second half for me, which still has its assets in its own way of course (hey at least it's grisly). But none of that really matters too much because it wraps up on such a perfect moment. Flawed but *very* groovy.

Pieces of You is the first book in the Missing Pieces series and, let me tell you, N.R. Walker does not pull any punches here. No sirree. This is a gentle book with only remembered steam which, once you read it, makes perfect sense. It is an emotional book. I think I read most of it with a lump in my throat but whenever Justin said something or couldn't remember Dallas, it grew a little bit larger!
The writing is smooth and the contemporary setting all too believable. The supporting characters provide a bit of light relief whilst providing a back-up system to Dallas. There is not a single superfluous scene or character in this book. Everyone and everything has been placed for a reason.
This is the first book in the series so you only get a HFN ending. It finishes on a bright, hopeful note though so that's something. Who knows what the future holds for Dallas and Justin. It won't be easy no matter what but I seriously can't wait to continue their fabulous story. Highly recommended by me.

The writing is smooth and the contemporary setting all too believable. The supporting characters provide a bit of light relief whilst providing a back-up system to Dallas. There is not a single superfluous scene or character in this book. Everyone and everything has been placed for a reason.
This is the first book in the series so you only get a HFN ending. It finishes on a bright, hopeful note though so that's something. Who knows what the future holds for Dallas and Justin. It won't be easy no matter what but I seriously can't wait to continue their fabulous story. Highly recommended by me.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
I love JP Sayle, you know I do, and I LOVED the Tangled Tentacles series, with the kraken and their arms, so I was expecting to love this book too, even if Fitch is an octopus, rather than a kraken.
But for me, I found it a little . . .flat . . maybe?? I dunno WHY I didn't love it, and I can't get my bloody book brain to spill its secrets, so I can't explain what was up with it! I'll just write what I did like and be done, ok??
I liked that Fitch, at 4 years old, knew that Shaun would be his. I liked that Fitch waited for Shaun to get with the feelings programme. I liked that they both have a say.
I did love Shaun's sister, Mandy, and what she did. She loves her brothers, plural, for she included Fitch in the number, and she wanted them both to be happy. Sneaky!
It has some steam, but I didn't think it was as smexy as some other Sayle books. It was more about the emotions between these two, and finally admitting who you wanted to be with!

IMMERSION PLAY is the first book in the Leather and Lattes series, a spin-off from Dungeons and Dating, but you don't need to have read those to enjoy this one.
Micah, vanilla as they come, broke off his so-called relationship and disappeared to San Francisco in the middle of the night. Parker is the Daddy Dom who is determined to never fall in love, due to the heartbreak that follows when one of them inevitably dies. The connection between these two is electric from the beginning, as Parker realises he may have found the boy perfect for him, and Micah realises he isn't as vanilla as he always thought.
Not only do you get a great story between Micah and Parker, but you also get a Found Family, with snippets of their backstories. It looks like this series is going to be another winner for this author, and I can't wait to read them!
Full of connections, love, s3x, and steam aplenty, this was a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed and definitely recommend.
