Debbiereadsbook (1416 KP) rated A Brat for Kinkmas (Naughty or Nice Season Three) in Books
Feb 1, 2023
something missing but I don't know what!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarain, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is part of the Naughty or Nice season three series and can be read as a stand alone to all the other books.
I like my books heavier on the BDSM side, and I'm a fan of the Daddy/little dynamics. For the most part. But something about THIS book doesn't quite work for me, and I've no idea what! So, I'm just gonna leave it at that!
What I DID like, was that what Ziv does was never made fully clear! Oh the hints and clues are there, it says some legal and some not so, but never just WHAT, you know? I was expecting him to be some sort of super secret do-gooder! He's not, but he does throw his money about to get what he wants, and who he wants!
I love that we catch up with Patrick and Akker (Agrippa My Heart) and Jessie and Smithy( His Boy To Tease) The trio of friends are now happy with their Daddies, and all loved up, and I love that they are.
Steamy and smexy, but missing *something* but I don't know what!
3 stars

Merissa (12740 KP) rated Of Mates & Magic (Eliza Falls #1) in Books
Dec 2, 2022
OF MATES & MAGIC is the first book in the Eliza Falls series and it gives you a quick insight into the small hallmark town.
Cora and Seb are the main characters who spend most of the book avoiding each other, but then seem to get together very quickly. I did like the build-up but then it was a steamy scene and boom! The book was over. Well, not quite, but the build-up definitely takes up the majority of the pages.
Some pieces of information seem as though they're going to play a part in the book but never come to fruition. I don't know if they will show up in later books that Seb and/or Tate are in.
The pacing is fast and so the world-building is a little rushed in places. That could be remedied in future stories though.
On the whole, this was a quick and enjoyable story that I can recommend. I'll definitely be on the lookout for the other books in this series.

Merissa (12740 KP) rated Right Place, Right Time (The Pilsdale Chronicles #1) in Books
Jul 20, 2023
RIGHT PLACE, RIGHT TIME is the first book in The Pilsdale Chronicles. In it, we meet Ben, who left Pilsdale four years ago after his parents died, and Jasper, the father of Ben's best friend, Finn. Ben had had a crush on Jasper for years but thought nothing would come of it. When he returns to Pilsdale to sort out his aunt's house, he goes to see Finn. Unfortunately - or luckily - Finn isn't around, but Jasper certainly is.
This was a hug in a book! There is some angst but it's fairly low-key. There are some steamy scenes but they are entirely in keeping with the story and not just there to add sex appeal. And with a wonderful cast of supporting characters, plus the gorgeously described countryside, what more could I have asked for?
This was a great start to a series by a new-to-me author and I look forward to returning to Pilsdale in 2024 with the next book in the series. Definitely recommended by me.

Merissa (12740 KP) rated Sweet Haven in Books
Apr 1, 2021 (Updated Jul 27, 2023)
SWEET HAVEN is sure to give you cavities, it is so sweet. But, do you know what? I wouldn't change a word. I was completely engrossed with Mr Grumpy Bear and his sweet klutz with a core of steel.
Both Garrett and Lee have been hurt in the past but that doesn't stop them. They have a hot and steamy romance that I loved! They deal with the hassle and troubles that head their way, while still helping others. I loved how Garrett gave Leeson the confidence and kitchen to perfect his own craft. Their antics in the 'professional kitchen' made me laugh out loud on more than one occasion.
They are ably supported by a great cast of characters that I can't wait to hear more from. We have to return to Sweet Haven, we simply have to!
If you are after a light-hearted, steaming-hot romance, then this is definitely the one for you, and I really can't recommend it enough!

Merissa (12740 KP) rated Gideon (Boyfriend for Hire #3) in Books
Nov 20, 2020 (Updated Aug 14, 2023)
GIDEON is the third book in the Boyfriend For Hire series but you don't have to have read any of the previous books to enjoy this one.
It starts off with both Gideon and Rowan attending the wedding of a friend when Rowan makes a comment about getting married himself. For some reason, Gideon takes that to mean Rowan is leaving and starts to imagine just how dull his life would be without Rowan in it.
This is a low-angst book that takes place over the Christmas period and you mainly get to see Gideon with Rowan's crazy but wonderful family. Chaos incarnate but coming from a place of love. Personally, it would drive me insane but there you go! 🤣
There are some steamy moments but mainly it is that first-blush time when everything is new and shiny. This was a great seasonal read with wonderful characters (especially the dogs) who help make the story shine.
Absolutely recommended by me.

Merissa (12740 KP) rated Nanny Negotiations (The Brotherhood: Legacy #1) in Books
Sep 5, 2023
NANNY NEGOTIATIONS is the first book in The Brotherhood: Legacy series and I now want to read ALL of the previous books in the historical series!
This one is set in Contemporary London. Aubrey needs a live-in job. Heath needs a nanny for his daughter, Eugenie, but still wants his time with her. Aubrey manages to convince Heath that a live-in nanny is best and BOOM, we're off.
I loved all three of our main characters. Eugenie, in particular, was so reminiscent of my daughters when they were that age, that I couldn't help but fall in love with her. Aubrey and Heath were brilliant together once they started communicating.
The supporting characters did their jobs amazingly well, and I loved them all. Well, all apart from the ex, of course. She was a piece of work, alright, and I've known a few people who only looked out for themselves.
Steamy in places and yet easygoing, I thoroughly enjoyed this story and have no hesitation in recommending it.
