THE ART OF LIVING is a standalone, but it does have some of the same characters from The Gift of Believing. This is not an issue, take my word for it.
Robert is Garrett's dad and has always put Garrett first. He's had to be mum, dad, carer, you name it, and he's not prepared to let Garrett down just for the sake of getting some. Niall has his own issues to deal with, mainly a younger brother who wants him to forgive his absentee-dying dad. With so much going on, will Robert and Niall be able to be together?
This was a warm story with a gentle writing style that I thoroughly enjoyed. The issues Niall faces are unfortunately too close to home for me, and I can tell you his emotions are spot on. This hit me hard when I was reading it as that wish for what might have been.
Apart from Robert misguidedly pushing Niall away, this story is low angst. There are some steamy moments but all as part of the story, rather than just because. The characters are wonderful, and I really hope that Sam and Jared have their story told.
A great emotional novel that I thoroughly enjoyed and have no hesitation in recommending.

SONATA is Viola's book. Well, hers and Lucien's. And if you liked Mr Grumpy-Pants in Melody's book, then you are going to love him in this! We begin with Lucien trying to rescue Viola, but being as she thinks she's going insane, it's not that easy. Rest assured, there is plenty of action and humour in the mix, as Lucien and Viola become mates.
I am loving this series. It really is that simple. The idea of the Muses being mated to vampire brothers gives me so much to look forward to. You know how greedy I am, I want all the details. And, lucky me, I think I'm going to get them. Not all in one go, of course, because there's no way Ms Daniels would be that kind to me. Instead, she'll eek them out, leaving me turning the pages as I continue the story. I guess that makes her a pretty good author, eh? 😂
I thoroughly enjoyed Melody's story, and I have loved this one. But the next one - Moël and Harmony? Oh my, I really can't wait for that one.
Back to this one - well written with a smooth pace, hot and steamy where it should be, with plenty of action and humour. All in all, a perfect read, and thereby absolutely recommended by me!

I am loving this series. It really is that simple. The idea of the Muses being mated to vampire brothers gives me so much to look forward to. You know how greedy I am, I want all the details. HIS COMPASS is the second book in the HIS series but can be read as a standalone although previous characters are mentioned.
This time we focus on Tom and Nick. Tom is the skipper of the Aphrodite and Nick is a deckhand who disappeared without a word, leaving Tom to his all-too-frequent thoughts of Nick. Tom starts off harsh with Nick when he reappears in his life, but you can understand it. However, from snippets you get from Nick before Tom shuts him up, you realise that something is... not wrong with Nick, but different. When it is just the two of them, Nick shows Tom a different side to him, which impresses Tom for a number of reasons.
I loved the slow burn of this book, even though things get a bit steamy quickly. Trust me, if you read the book, it does make sense. The different settings are all gorgeous and described to perfection. Even if you've never been to any of the places mentioned, you will be able to visualise them easily.
The epilogue was perfect, both for the story and for Tom and Nick themselves. This is a well-written contemporary romance, rich with information and details that present them to you in a way that will keep you turning the pages. Definitely recommended by me.

Quite possibly McIntyre's best work to date!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
I'm not rehashing the blurb, and I'm not telling you the story, I'ma just gonna jump straight in!
READ THIS FREAKING BOOK, PEOPLE!
It's so well written, from both Rhys and Cole's POV, in the first person, each chapter headers the change.
It's steamy and smexy (sooooooooooooooooooo smexy!) It's deeply emotional, for both Rhys and Cole and that surprised me, don't ask me why, cos I've no freaking idea! I just expected this to be a light and fluffy book. And it is, but with a heavy side of emotions.
It's sweet and cute, it's so freaking cute. Full of the warm and fuzzies that low/no angst books carry. Full of emotion and love.
Rhys is in a dark place when he comes into contact with Cole, and after that, it's just two guys falling in love! Throw in McIntyre's skill with found families, and extended families, and a 2 yr old called Sammy and you've got, for me, possibly McIntyre's best work yet!
AND this is the first in a new series and I cannot wait for the next one!
I'm making this a relatively short review, I might start ranting and raving, and if I allow myself free reign, you could end up with a 10,000 word review!
I'm putting this on my Masterpiece shelf! I abso-freaking-lutely loved this book and I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Relentless Habit is the first book in the O-Town series, which is a spin-off from the Riot MC series. In this, we meet Cecilia who is a recovering addict. She sees a man with some serious dance moves but takes no action. After the third night of seeing him, he makes a move and Cecilia learns about the force of nature that is Brock.
I enjoyed this novel as Cecilia and Brock dance around each other. Brock was a bit of an ass when Cecilia tried to tell him something and he steamrollered over her. Then! gets upset when he finds out later what it was. Saying that, though, once he got his head out of his ass, he proved to Cecilia that he was there for her and refused to let her push him away when the going got tough.
I thought their romance was hot and steamy, full of banter, support, and maybe just a few too many nicknames and endearments, but that's just me. A couple of situations seemed a bit O.T.T. to me but, once again, that's just my opinion.
All in all, this was a great read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I will be on the lookout for more books by Karen Renee now. Absolutely recommended.

I enjoyed this novel as Cecilia and Brock dance around each other. Brock was a bit of an ass when Cecilia tried to tell him something and he steamrollered over her. Then! gets upset when he finds out later what it was. blinder of a plot twist!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 4 in the Esposito County Shifters series, but I have not read them all. They can all be read as stand alones.
Angela runs after discovering her abusive boyfriend sells her out to the mob. Something guides her to Esposito County and Matt saves her. There is a familiar scent to Angela that Matt can't place, but he knows one thing: he will do anything to keep her safe, and make her his.
I liked this a lot. It takes a darker edge than Growl (book 3) but plays another blinder of a plot twist for Matt and Angela that I did not see coming!
It's steamy and smexy, yes but this had less of a *MINE* moment that some shifter books have and more of an *I know you, but can't place you* and the feelings for both Matt and Angela creep up on them. Oh, don't get me wrong, Matt has that drive to protect Angela right from the start, but he wasn't sure what it meant. I loved that it takes time, you know? The rapid fall-in-loves books are all well and good, but I especially liked that particular book isn't like that.
I loved that the other shifters in town pulled together to sort out Angela's problem, and I love that Matt asked if he could deal with it personally.
A thoroughly enjoyable 4 star read.
