TEXTUAL CONFUSION is a standalone story about two men whose story starts with a text message. When Asher receives a text in the middle of the night, he knows he should ignore it, but can't resist answering. This leads to more than he ever thought possible.

Asher and Markus were great characters. I do love it when one of them is an a$$hole to everyone apart from the one he loves, even if I don't like it in real life. But, hey, that's why we read, right? I also loved that everyone else could see how deep Markus was in, apart from Asher, who had his own reasons for not believing.

Sasha and Danny are the best supporting characters, especially Sasha, who made me LOL a few times! And speaking of other characters, in this book, you get not one but two protagonists (if you don't count Asher himself!) You've got his psycho ex who didn't want Asher but doesn't want anyone else to have him either. You've also got his mother - a term I use very loosely!

There is a third-act breakup which may be triggering to some people, just so you know. There were a couple of things that happened that I personally don't like (spit-swapping, for one) that knocked off half a star, but nothing too bad.

On the whole, I thoroughly enjoyed this high-angst, hot and steamy book and read it in one sitting. 4.5 stars, rounded up, and definitely recommended.

Bloody Loved it!
I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is book 2 in the Redwood Bay Fire series, and while it's not really neceassary to read book 1, Igniting His Flame, I think you should. If only cos I said so!

Colton left Zahir after they finished high school and they haven't seen each other in 15 years. But one meeting, and Colton knows he never stopped loving Zahir. Zahir isn't sure he can survive Colton leaving again, and Zahir will not go back into the closet. Can they work it out?

I've had a run of these fairly low angst books and I am LOVING them all!

What I especially loved about this one, was the fact that neither Colt or Zahir had really moved on. Oh they'd had other partners, but nothing lasting, just flings and one nights. But meeting each other again, it all comes back and they both realise that they really could never move on.

I loved that they actually talked it out. Once they had done that, they went all in. I loved how Colt stands up to his mum and dad, that really did make me laugh! Portia was amazing, given what she had been dragged into, and I think she flies the rainbow flag too!

It's not ever so steamy, but it's hawt, if that makes sense. Emotional, very, but the angst level is low and I loved that it was.

Loved that Lochlan and Dario pop up. I love this One: Thirteen family!

This is, I believe, Ms Welch's first foray into the world of second chance, and by Jove I think she got it! Keep these guys coming, please, I need more of them in my life!

HIS SECRET OMEGA is a standalone story that had previously been released as His Secret Alpha. That one was sweet, cute, and steamy. This one has been rewritten, expanded to novel-length, and is a whole lot darker. And I thoroughly enjoyed them both!

Sky and Kian have a 'complicated' relationship - as in, Sky had a crush, didn't think anything had come of it, and needed to get over it. Kian, on the other hand, doesn't see situations and relationships in the same way most people do. He has claimed Sky, although Sky doesn't know it, and has decided now is the time to let him know.

This is a dark romance, so be prepared for some triggering scenes, right from the beginning. If you have triggers, this may not be the book for you. Personally, I liked the back-and-forth between Kian and Sky. I also liked how Sky was bigger than average, easy to get along with, and wasn't shy about calling Kian out when needed.

I did feel as though this was part of a series, though, and I wonder about the books for the other characters mentioned. Maybe this was a spin-off, maybe it's planned to be added to a series, I don't know.

I'm glad I read both the novella and this one. As already said, I enjoyed both and have no hesitation in recommending both of them too. Just ensure you're getting the right one for you!

simply wonderful!
Independent reviewer for Neon, I was gifted my copy of this book.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Ms Ryecart does holiday stories like no other and I bloody LOVED this!

The last book Ms Ryecart wrote was dark and deadly. And this?? Is so very NOT those things.

Jake has been hiding himself away, working on his suruvual business. Ru finds himself stranded after his car breaks down and there is a blizzard. What follows is Jake slowly descending into life again, with Ru.

What I loved most about this, was that Jake really did not see it coming! It wasn't a meet cute, with Ru waking up with Jake's gun in his face, but even from that point, I think Ru saw it and jake just did not. And it was a lot, a LOT of fun watching him fall hard and fast and really getting blindsided by Ru, in the best way.

There is no real drama, and it's very low on the ansgt scale. Steamy, of yes! Once these two get down and dirty, it heats up nicely.

But it's emotional in a way I didn't quite see coming, and I'm really not sure why I didn't. Much like Jake, I was somewhat blindsided but I loved that I was. Sometimes, it's really great to be slapped upside the head with emotions that come out of nowhere! Might just be me, but just saying how much I loved the emotional attachment that these two develop.

This is, quite simply, a wonderful tale of 2 men falling in love around the Christmas period and it is Ms Ryecart at her very best.
