Cyn Armistead (14 KP) rated Like a Charm in Books
Mar 1, 2018
I hated it. I read the first 3 or so stories, then skipped ahead to Kelley Armstrong's contribution, since she's the only reason I picked up the book.
If you like dark stories, almost horror but no gore, this book is for you. Otherwise, steer clear. I like the idea of interconnected stories, but I don't need so much of the bleak.

AT (1676 KP) rated Seven Little Sons of the Dragon, A Collection of Seven Stories in Books
Apr 8, 2020
This is a collection of seven short stories in manga format. Most of the stories were fine, considering the short length. My only real complaint is that the last story should not have been the last. The book should have ended maybe with one of the first few, instead. The stories were all fairly different from one another, which was nice.

The Chocolate Lady (94 KP) rated Evevingland: Stories in Books
Oct 5, 2020
Michael Knight's a collection of short stories gives us the flavor of the many attributes of the city Mobile Alabama and a taste of some of its varied inhabitants, with some wild weather (both literally and figuratively) thrown in for good measure. See what I thought of these stories in my review of "Eveningland" here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2017/03/26/mobile-stories/

Cumberland (1142 KP) rated 21 Proms in Books

A Mixed Bag
This book contains 21 stories by 21 different authors. All of these stories center around Prom. This book was hard for me to review, because of how different each story is. Some of them were truly wonderful, however I think the vast majority of them were forgettable. I personally like character driven stories, and character development just isn't something that you see in a lot of short stories. Overall I don't regret reading this, but I probably won't pick it up again.

A great collection of short horror stories.
This is an excellent collection of short stories of the macabre written by Nicholas Vince, who is probably best known for playing the Chatterer cenobite in the original Hellraiser films.

Logan (76 KP) rated X-Men: Powerless in Books

The artwork is generally good, but the stories are choppy. Still, X-Men!
