Dean (6927 KP) rated Traffic (2001) in Movies
Apr 30, 2019
A good drama that follows different entwining stories related to drugs in America. The film covers all aspects of the drug problem from the drug cartels in Mexico, the police officers on both sides of the border, the political side of things and the users. It's good how the stories all connect similar to Babel, Crash. This has a great cast and Benicio Del Toro is the best of them in my opinion. A little slow at times on some stories but overall a great film.
Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated SEAL of My Dreams in Books

This was a fairly good book filled with short stories. Most of the stories were very well done and some failed to capture my attention. I'm glad that I bought this book. It was definitely entertaining and a way of finding new authors.
I definitely have a weakness for romance with military men. There is nothing sexier than an alpha male in camo. I thought that these stories were definitely entertaining and it was nice to have a stopping point every 30 pages or so. I really enjoyed this book.

Milleen (47 KP) rated Paris for One and Other Stories in Books
Nov 14, 2018 (Updated Nov 14, 2018)
Top up on hapless heroines and romance in this year's collection of eleven beautifully crafted short stories. Jojo Moyes is a skilful spinner of characters and fantasy male/female relationships and this short collection is just as satisfying as her novels. The protagonists are warm and slightly quirky which makes them endearing and memorable. If you haven't read a book for a while, short stories are just what you need to warm up your reading habits this winter. Several stories in this collection will get you hooked on Moyes light hearted take on the world

Melanie Caldicott (6 KP) rated And the Mountains Echoed in Books
Apr 29, 2021
I loved The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns and was not disappointed with And The Mountains Echoed. Hosseini is a masterful writer whose storytelling is arresting, captivating and spellbinding. Each of the stories in this book are beautiful. It is a particularly admirable skill to write stories that are so thought-provoking, but are still gripping and compelling. The themes of family, what makes us human, the beautiful personal perspectives and the evocative locations of the stories all combine to make this book immensely rich and hugely enjoyable. Just brilliant!
