"Ok, this film is everything that I think a good love story is. It’s intense, profound and full of discovery. Definitely the most unpredictable love story I have ever seen. Director Fatih Akin’s bold direction and straightforward storytelling make this one of my favorite love stories of all time."

"That’s a masterpiece that always moves me, every time I see it. I love epic films, I love epic theatre — bold, big stories, with intricate character work, but truth, you know? At the base of it all, something true. Whether it’s a raging spirit or style to the hilt."

"This classic collection of short stories is about a character dealing with addiction, but Johnson masterfully elucidates the "spirit" component of alcoholic "spirits": His writing is almost otherworldly in its attunement to what's below surfaces, gliding into these spaces with words that capture our most nuanced internal states"

"Here’s a novel of intimate emotion and historical sweep. It tells the twin stories of an Australian doctor’s melancholy love affair and his appalling experience as a war prisoner building the Burma Railway. Most potently, Flanagan makes use of his own father’s real-life biography in telling his story."

I enjoyed this book. I love witch stories and the enemies to lovers troupe was well done. Lou is funny and brings a light-hearted part to the story. I love the strong female characters within the book. Adventure, romance, debauchery and mystery are all within the story.
