A strange debut horror story for Guillermo del Toro. It has a certain charm to it, bringing a new idea to a vampire tale. Character driven rather than over the top shock and gore. Still it looks rather dated now due to the low budget.

It's easy to understand if you've lost your appetite for zombie movies, as there isn't much fresh meat in that niche of the entertainment world at this point, but I really dug Cargo. Not gory, not intense, just a great character driven story that made for an enjoyable watch.

"A character-driven story that is full of action with steamy moments interspersed, this series just gets better and better."

Well written but a disappointing end
This is a brilliant written character driven story, and it's a great quick read. So quick I finished it in one afternoon. It's quite disturbing in a way considering the subject matter, although I found the ending to be a bit disappointing as it was fairly predictable.

A dark crime, comedy caper that is driven by the characters. Quite odd a lot of the time with scenes and dialogue that don't add up to much. The fact it's based on a true story shows how bad things can go when you try to get a little bit of money.

A Relatable Technology-Driven Future
This story has a direction as soon as you jump in. You are with Wade against all odds trying to find the Egg before the Sixers do and inevitably ruin the game and the world. This fast-paced sci-fi adventure belongs on everyone’s to-read list.

Also see the movie, it’s pretty good.

A pretty good action, SFX driven film. It doesn't have the charm of the original and the action scenes are over a bit quick. It is quite a bit different to the original for a lot of the scenes, although the overall story is quite similar. One to switch your brain off to! Sequel out in 2012!

I didn't dislike this, it's actually a great story and it's such a poignant subject matter especially given the current climate. My main issue is that I just didn't vibe with any of the characters and I'm such a character driven reader that if I'm not invested in at least one character I'm not invested in the story and that was the sad truth about this book for me! I definitely recommend reading it but it just wasn't fully my cup of tea!

"Tokyo Story is a beautiful document of a specific time, place, and culture. The drama is grounded and driven by what it meant to take care of a family in postwar Japan; the narrative is firmly rooted in history. At the same time, the story transcends this context so easily. We see ourselves in this family. We relate to their flaws, joys, and fears. Watching this film gives us the opportunity to reflect on our own lives; it is a gift."
