Not bad
Based on the Sharoin Taste murder by the Mansion family in the late sixties, this movie was pretty good. The acting was well done and the cinematography, while looking like it was made in the eighties(intentionally I think), was decent. If you know your history you'll already know the storyline. They played it out at a good pace and kept it intense. The beginning scene wasn't really necessary but it is what it is. The movie felt kind of like you were watching "The Strangers', with no real sense to the violence, but again, if you know your history you know that was the case with this story at the time. Entertaining enough, this one is worth a watch.

Hunt this down
Available now on Sky Cinema I just missed this at the cinema when lockdown happened. From the Producers of @The Purge (2013) it has a similar premise to that and @Hard Target (1993)
A bunch of strangers wake up who knows where and soon realise they are being hunted. Some have heard of "Manorgate" an online rumour of a large estate where people are hunted and killed because of their political opinions.
It's very tongue in cheek, darkly comic humour but with plenty of blood splatter. Some of the jokes are hit and miss, but overall it was a fun over the top film for the short run time.

Tower of Song by Leonard Cohen

"‘Tower of Song’ was another one where the sonic palette influenced us, with this big vocal and not much happening around it - there's nothing to distract you from what he's saying. Lyrics are usually my number one thing, but this is actually the record where for the first time I was being influenced by a lot of the music rather than lyrics. I had that taken care of in my mind or something, it was more about sounds and felling. When I wrote ‘Beautiful Strangers’ I don’t think I’d heard ‘Tower of Song’, but I remember a lot of people comparing the two songs and that led me to that record. It's about creating a minimal sonic palette, where the lyrics are the most important thing."

This one has been done to death really. Child/children taken by bad people. Parent goes nuts to get them back. But despite this fact... I still love watching them. Especially where it's a woman that is on a mission. At this point I'd like any would be attackers and burglars that after all these movies, and many Home Alone marathons that I feel very prepared to defend my territory... and I'm watched a lot of CSI, so I'm getting away with everything too.

Where The Strangers was predictable and dull, this was predictable and yet still entertaining. It's not going to win any awards, and was annoyingly a little short, but still a good watch to pass the time.
