Loved it!
Jade loves her new apartment--until a ghost joins her in the shower.
When empath Jade Calhoun moves into an apartment above a strip bar on Bourbon Street, she expects life to get interesting. What she doesn't count on is making friends with an exotic dancer, attracting a powerful spirit, and developing feelings for Kane, her sexy landlord.
Being an empath has never been easy on Jade's relationships. It's no wonder she keeps her gift a secret. But when the ghost moves from spooking Jade to terrorizing Pyper, the dancer, it's up to Jade to use her unique ability to save her. Except she'll need Kane's help--and he's betrayed her with a secret of his own--to do it. Can she find a way to trust him and herself before Pyper is lost?
Loved it
I for one loved this book. It was funny , spooky full of eye candy both male and female. It was just fun to read. I enjoy reading books when the main female role has a backbone and Made has just that! Supported by some very strong characters.

Fabulously deceptive, deliciously dark
Park Chan-wook has pulled another delicious thriller out of the bag after his Vengeance Trilogy and Stoker. It is dark, filled with violence and sex, but the cinematography is decadent and the vivid colours spill out of the screen.
The story itself is filled with twists and turns, even tying your stomach in knots watching it. It's a question of who betrays who? Which of the characters are con artists?
I love the fact that there is a strong female presence in this film like Park's other stories. Absolutely gripping.

Demon-fighting, gun-slinging Wonder Woman
Season 1 was great, season 2 takes it to a whole new level. Show runner, Emily Andras, really knows how to make viewers feel all the feels. You'll go from laughing to crying to ready to punch someone in one scene. The amazing actors have definitely brought their A game this season to bring Emily's vision to life. If you like strong female characters, LGBTQ representation, demon fighting, and/or a show that'll keep you on the edge of your seat, this is the show for you.

I read this book quite some time ago and it stayed with me long after finishing. This book is an exceptional book of what it's like to be a black child growing up in the South. I won't mention what the story is so it won't be spoiled in anyway but this is definitely a must read! Please add this to your tbr pile.
Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2200 KP) rated Murder Most Maine (Gray Whale Inn Mystery, #3) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Natalie is beginning to regret hosting a weight loss retreat at her bed and breakfast in Maine when she sees how her boyfriend reacts to being reunited with the female leader. However, when the male leader is murdered, Natalie has even bigger things to worry about, like keeping her boyfriend out of jail. A strong plot and sub-plot kept me turning pages even if the suspect characters could have been stronger.

Inspiring
This was the 2nd book that I read in the Goddess series and it was just as good as the first one I read. I love how strong and thought out the female characters are, how they tend to be more mature women that are still finding themselves rather than the clichéd teen dramas, and the attention to detail that Cast puts into the world building.
This is a retelling of a sorts of the Legend of King Arthur and is simply brilliant. If you enjoy retellings of fairytales and myths then you really must read this series, please note that it isn't for younger readers as it has explicit content.

I have been waiting for [Enders] by [Lissa Price] since I read [Starters] as an ARC. I absolutely love the premise of these stories. I have recommended(and will continue) to recommend them to my students. In fact I have pretty much made [Starters] required reading for the kids in my Future Problem Solving group.
The characters are strong and I am always happy to see a female in a strong role which thankfully has been the trend in YA literature (with one blaring exception recently).
The story is fast paced, in fact I read the book in under 24 hours. [Enders] picked up right where [Starters] left off. I look forward to reading more books written by [Lissa Price].

An enjoyable and addictive read
This is book two in the series but I haven't read the first and, to be honest, I don't think it mattered that much however, there is likely to be additional background to the main characters which I have missed out on and which will likely add to this story but I feel this can easily be read as a standalone.
Harper is a great lead female character; strong, courageous and feisty but with a vulnerability that makes her more convincing but all the characters are well developed and believable ... even the cat, Zuzu!
The main story line of the murder and subsequent investigation is great but the side-stories are equally as good and with the writing flowing with ease, this makes this an enjoyable and addictive read that I devoured in just over a day.
Definitely recommended reading for you readers out there who love a strong, female character, a great mystery, engaging investigation and some scenes of peril.
I am very much looking forward to the next instalment and hope that Ms Daugherty is locked away somewhere feverishly writing!
Thank you to HarperCollins UK, Harperfiction via NetGalley for my copy in return for my honest and unbiased opinion.
