"The Celebration, the film by Thomas Vinterberg. It’s an example of innovative filmmaking and great storytelling. It’s just very moving. The subject matter, first of all, is incredible, you have this style of humour, and the acting’s insane. It was the idea of this Dogme-type style that I hadn’t really seen before — you know, you sort of feel it with Cassavetes, but I loved the strict adherence here to the principles of no artificial lighting, no artificial action, you can’t have any dolly tracking or crane shots at all; it’s all hand-held, it’s all video."

Unfortunatly I could not finish this book, from the first line I knew I wouldn't like it and I didnt get any further then page 40, reading the blurb at the back this book really appealed to me, it was supposed be kind of supernatral, what with it being about the the keeper of the river styx and him trying to overthrow god, and I get that it is around a group of junkies but the writing style was just jumbled and scattered and most of the time it just confused the hell out of me, random little seperate sentences in the middle of the paragraph which really made no sense were put in and that did it for me I just had enough of the inane writing style and awful story telling.
But that is just my view, I am sure that kind of writing style and storytelling appeal to other people just not me.
I would not recommend it.

This debut novel was a weird and gruesome read that kept me its prisoner until the bitter end. I was completely enthralled with the portrayal of Lizzie Borden. The author's writing style was truly a delight and I look forward to more of her works.

A new spin on the Slasher genre
An interesting take on the Slasher film. This is done in a documentary style of a TV crew following a serial killer. Check it out if you are a Slasher fan.
