"How did this film fly so far under the radar? I think especially as a woman who grew up Christian in the South, seeing the Christ story through a heroic woman’s POV was… transformative. I love its doc-style approach to such epic material. The miracle is in the conscience."

"Utterly romantic and heartbreaking. Barry Jenkins’ style feels to me like writing with a fresh, felt tip pen in a brand new notebook. It’s a sensory experience; there’s texture and tactility on top of all the emotions. I didn’t want the film to end, but I never do with Jenkins’ films."

This didn't hold my attention at all. The style wasn't smooth for me and I didn't particularly feel anything for anyone. The most connection I felt was her with Kyle back home for that little tryst in the dark.

Not for me.

I did enjoy this classic film and have watched it a couple of times - however the 80s early 90s anime drawing isn't my favourite drawing style and I find impacts my enjoyment of a film even if like this it has good story line.

Rolling Stone's 334th greatest album of all time

Brilliant album, I would say reminiscent of Elvis Costello but I believe they emerged about the same time, Parker possibly slightly earlier. Still, that gives an indication of the style of music, being similar to Costello's early days. Great "diet punk" songs.
