I enjoyed the Violet, Klaus, and Sunny as characters and the three Quagmire triplets. The rest of the characters i hardly liked at all.
I think the book could be shorter. I liked the first three and the last four books but the middle could be taken out without much consequence. Towards the end I felt like I was just reading it because I had already come so far and I couldn't wait to finish them. On the other hand, I'm glad I read the ending because I enjoyed it.
I go into a lot more detail on my blog. Link is in my bio if you want to check it out.

Neil Gaiman's writing style is on point in this book, it draws you right into the story. Gaiman makes you fall in love with the protagonists, and passionately hate the antagonists. He makes you question the loyalty of certain characters, and trust the ones you should have been questioning all along. Gaiman makes you feel like you are right there in London below with them.
This whole book is fantastic, the concept, the characters, the writing, the beginning; the middle; and the end. It's one of those books you never want to end, never want to put down, and could read over and over again.

Sorry, Isaac. I'm sure that's not true of you.
All in all, the success of this book doesn't surprise me, but it was not easy to get through.

It was a really compelling read as you gather the evidence and facts to decide if Anna is guilty or not. Abigail Haas has masterfully written the book so that your emotions are engaged throughout.
The writing style is quite choppy as you change between, present day, pre murder flashbacks, transcripts of phone calls/ interviews. However the style really works as it sets the scene for before the murder and gives you the evidence as it occurs. It also gives you the confusion I’m sure Anna is feeling, especially as she is blindsided by new evidence. It just seems as if Anna is recounting the story to the reader and the flashbacks are relevant.
I would definitely recommend this book particularly if you enjoys thrillers/ mysteries like Gone Girl or The Girl on the Train as this is similar but with teens.
