Plot lacks sometimes (0 more)

This book started off pretty slow but did pick up towards the end...
However, I did feel like I had points where I struggled to read it or didn’t really want to pick it up and carry it on even though it had it’s really good moments.
I’m not sure if I will continue to read the series but if I do I’ll be sure to keep you all updated!

Quite an unusual setting: the Roman Republic (not yet an Empire) at sea, during the early stages of what would later become known as the first Punic War between Rome and Carthage.

Plenty of novels focusing on Roman Legions: this is the only I can think of focusing on their fledging navy. Definitely in the style of Cornwell, Scarrow et al so if you like that kind of historical fiction, you'll probably like this too.

Limited story

If you are a fan of Theme Hospital, this is perfect for you, as this is effectively a modern-day remake of that game. If you like Tycoon games, I would recommend this game. Any game that has good, light humour is worth a try, in my opinion. You can't go far wrong with this.

complex world

A multilayered complex read, heavy and a lot more bloody and violent than the first book. Seriously, don't read this when trying to eat lunch. A few new characters join the scene and the rough spots in the writing style are smoothed out so it was easier to get into the flow of the book. Still heavy in lore, religion, and superstition that adds to the overall experience of the book.

Italian Classics for the Youth

Italian music is my weakness. I love the way it sounds. It has a set style of its own. And I love that these young men have brought all the old songs back to the present. I especially love Grande Amore and have done since I heard it on the Eurovision. One of my favourite songs of all time. Their voices are amazing and it seems so effortless.
