Well I loved this film. I’m aware it was really long, but it seemed to pass very quickly. I was happy with the way it went with various characters (I don’t want to give it away!) and I loved how all of the marvel superheroes were tied in to the story. I can see they’re likely to be ‘bigging up’ the female characters in future films, and that’s no bad thing at all.
I’m just sad that it seems to have come to an end for some characters, but I suppose they can’t play those roles forever.
I AM looking forward to a new Guardians of the Galaxy though!

Finally - Butcher's backstory
For a number of issues now, we have known Butcher is a violent, yet calculated man with a real hatred of superheroes. But nobody quite knows the details of his life. Until now. This story sees Butcher standing over his dead father before his funeral, outlining his life and why he hates him.
A great background to this mysterious Negan-like character, we finally see quite what Homelander did to his wife, how he became so twisted and violent and get a glimpse of what he has planned.
Some cliché'd London upbringing scenes but good to put meat on the character's bones.

Violence violence and more violence! Karl Urban is great (0 more)
Not for everyone, especially if youre squeamish (0 more)
The Boys is adrenaline fueled "shock" TV at its best. It is begging you to watch it, even if it sometimes makes it hard to watch. But what makes The Boys work so well is under all the drugs, sex and violence, it has a lot to say.

The show follows Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) as he recruits a team of people who have bern wronged by Superheroes. In The Boys universe, the superheroes tend to not care so much about callateral damage, and honestly, most of them are douchebags (think Captain Hammer from Dr Horrible's evil singalong blog) .

As we learn more about their word the show not only becomes an obvious satire on superhero culture, but the our society as a hole. The religion episode, is one that really stands out as not being afraid to take shots.

The effects, mostly work pretty well, and nothing was bad enough to take me out of the escapeism. The acting is a bit all over the place, but Karl Urban really commands the screen.

It should be said that this is not for everyone. It is one of the mist graphic (non horror) things I have ever seen, and if you're not used to it you may find yourself checking out early. If you can handle the violence, it's worth it

Before I start, just wanna point out that because of this show, to me every bad thing is now diabolical and said like karl urban...

Season 1 has come and gone and what a season it was, Karl Urban plays a badass anti hero-loving crusader of sorts whose probably in need of some anger management who reunites with his old team who seemingly left their friendship a little salty to say the least.

After managing to capture a "Hero" and a member of the 7 (team of hero's), butcher (urban) is after answers as to what happened to his missing wife 8 year's ago after she was sexually assaulted by another hero and the leader of the 7!
Things take a humorous, dark and violent twist with every move.
In a world where Superheroes are often as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and sometimes even as revered as gods. But that's when they're using their powers for good. What happens when the heroes go rogue and start abusing their powers? When it's the powerless against the super powerful, the Boys head out on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets.
