So, I am still plowing through the Bendis SUPERMAN stuff, as I took full advantage of the Superman sale that Comixology is running until this Monday (6/22) Hella good deals, bringing me on board for all the Bendis goodness! Yup, I said "Bendis goodness"! This guy seems to be just what DC neeeded! He really truly cares about the character, bringing a sense of heroism back to him, making him truly stand for Truth, Justice, and the American Way (not "Trump AmeriKKKa" either!)!

There's a lot of set-up/world building going on, with a lot set-up for much that is to come during Bendis' run with the Big 'S'. There's some fun, much appreciated typical Jimmy Olsen dialogue. There's some introduction of new "big bad" in Metropolis. And, best of all, Clark Kent is Clark Kent, Superman is Superman, and his beloved Lois Lane is back! Yup, sounds like a heck of a good start for the new run!

Bendis is given some tip-top talent to work with on ACTION COMICS! It starts out with Patrick Gleason, then Yanick Paquette, and finishes it out with Ryan Sook. All three artists compliment each other's style, offering a flawless transition all the way through to the end. Solid work, lads!

It is a good read, one that leaves the wheels a'turnin' in yer mind, as it offers much potential in the next arc, "Leviathan Rising", which sets up the next big Event! Read it, fellow Superman fans, as you will not be disappointed in any way!

This was a good, well-written thriller, I just had a hard time staying interested in this one since I am not at all a Superman fan! The lore was still interesting, but didn't grab my attention like other Bad Meltzer books.

The newest failure in the DC Cinematic universe, with a terrible plot, hilarious corny dialogue and suits, and a horrible, horrible villain. The best part involved Superman and The Flash

Not so much a story about Superman, as it is about Clark Kent: this is set in (what I feel is) the most interesting period of his - fictional! - life, just after moving to Metropolis for the very first time and not long before he starts working for the Daily Planet and meets the key players in his story.

Yes, it's a period that has been covered before in both TV (Smallville) and print (eg: Superman: Birthright), but the great thing about the Big Blue Scout, The Man of Steel himself is that his character - while superficially boring - can fit into any time and any context.

Felt a little small
As usual, I don't go to theatres much so I watched this on home video last night after rewatching Batman vs. Superman last week.

Having my expectations low, I actually enjoyed the film. Certainly has its flaws, but I was never bored while watching. The whole Superman mustache thing I thought was a little blown out of proportion, or maybe not as noticeable on a smaller screen.

The film is certainly carried by the larger-than-life perfect castings of Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot who continue their masterful portrayals of Superman and Wonder Woman. Ben Affleck looked bored throughout and the others didn't matter.

I was waiting the whole time for Aquaman to do something actually Aquamanish and he never did. Not even make a group of sharks go attack someone. I was surprised by that.

My main criticism is the film just feels small, meaning not epic. The final resolution was satisfying, but that's about it. Sort of anticlimactic I thought.

Still enjoyed a lot.
