Delightfully Dark
This is an wonderfully adult take on a classic children's tale. All the characters you loved as a child are there however you may not love them so much in this version. Henry sets a fast paced tale that follows Alice from the depths of an asylum through a blood soaked path of discovery and revenge. Whilst the fast pace can leave you a little bit wanting in terms of build up and suspense this is a great and entertaining read. If you have a couple of hours spare I would highly recommend filling with this book.

Missed the notes of the book
The Goldfinch was quite a special book full of atmosphere and suspense as well of coming of age. Its also a bloody big book so to make it work in a short film is quite difficult.

That is the movies let down. The development of characters that is expansive in the book was lacking the space they needed in the film. Its still a decent enough flick but you just don't get drawn into the emotion of the people involved.

Detectives McCabe and Savage, in the first of this series, are on the hunt for a sick individual, murdering young healthy women and removing their hearts. After they find the body of a young missing girl, they are informed another woman has gone missing already, and the clock starts ticking... they have a week to find her and taking the killer down.

Interesting read, like the characters but would like to see more character development and the partnership between McCabe and Savage... is it sexual, friendly... it’s hard to ascertain.

Well written and gripping, finished in 24 hours.

Gripping, couldnt put it down
I could not put this book down, I love the story and the different time frames, I was nearly always itching to read the next 'past tense chapter hoping to find out more. I like the lead Detective. The characters were well thought up. I did guess whodunnit so it didnt have the full suspense for me but overall a good read. I would agree with others who have stated it is not as good as The Dry but still has it's own merit and worth a read.

Okay so walking into the theater I wasn't sure what to express due to the fact of the past two films not being that great but I personally loved this it was action packed adventure and suspense filled I say two thumbs up but remember that it's PG-13 for a reason so if nonstop action sounds like a problem then you may want to take the kids to another movie however if they really wanna see it and they can handle action then I highly recommend it

"Clouzot’s gripping film about a group of men driving a truck full of nitroglycerine to end a mining disaster is, although it could not be more French, one of the great buddy pictures of all time, with a degree of white-knuckle suspense that has never been bettered, before or sense. It is, or could be, an elegy to the French film industry, which in its heyday could produce films of every kind that captured an international audience, and is now pretty much reduced to love stories or French comedies that, with rare exceptions, seldom seem funny to foreigners."

Dont Say a Word- is a really good suspense thriller.

The plot: Ruthless crook Patrick Koster (Sean Bean) and his partner capture young Jessie Conrad (Skye McCole Bartusiak) and hold her for an unusual ransom. Koster wants Jessie's therapist father, Nathan (Michael Douglas), to somehow coax traumatized teen Elisabeth (Brittany Murphy) into divulging a mysterious code number that will lead the criminals to a hidden jewel worth a fortune. Unfortunately, it may be impossible to convince the delusional Elisabeth to cooperate: she hasn't spoken in 10 years.

Its a really good film, highly recordmend it.
