BookInspector (124 KP) rated Trust Me in Books

The protagonist in this book is Ellen, but this book is told from multiple perspectives. Even though she is a civilian, she has seen a lot in her life, which made her brave, compassionate and very determined to solve this case. I really liked all the characters chosen for this novel, some of them were very mysterious and scary, others sweet but misleading. They all created a very thrilling, fast-paced atmosphere, that I enjoyed.
The narrative of this book was a true spiders web. There were so many questions from the first chapter, and the suspense was unbearable. đ I really liked Ellenâs and other characterâs journeys, investigation and all the twists and turns that this book had to offer. The mystery was very well kept throughout the pages, and the authorâs mind manipulations were brilliant. I was soooo confused about what agenda all the characters had, and could not wait to find out all of it. The topics discussed in this book were infertility, PTSD, shady police work, kidnapping, the social media footprint we leave, and many more. This book has a lot of violence and murder, so might not be suitable for sensitive readers.
I absolutely loved the writing style of this book. The author really knows how to keep amazing suspense and deliver great characters. The atmosphere is constantly changing, and because of that all this book is kind of âon the goâ. The chapters are pretty short and the multiple perspectives kept me glued and did not allow me to put this book down. I really liked the culmination and the ending of this novel as well, it rounded up this story perfectly.
So, to conclude, I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced thriller, filled with mysterious and absorbing characters as well as the plot that is filled with mystery, questions and the wish to find out what is actually going on there.

Merissa (13197 KP) rated Through His Touch (Mind's Eye #2) in Books
Apr 11, 2023
Book 2 starts just before the ending of Book 1, Through His Eyes, which helps to lead you gently back into the story. Be prepared though, as that's probably the most gentle thing about this book. It is full of Levi and Trudy and the problems their relationship faces, most of which are caused by Levi to be fair! That book was a Paranormal Romantic Suspense. This book I would label this as Romantic Suspense with a bit of Paranormal thrown in. There is far less emphasis on the abilities of Levi and Trudy in this one than the first which I found to be slightly disappointing as I loved reading about them. HOWEVER, that said, this is still a fantastic story that is full of stalkers, murderers, history, and manipulators.
Levi and Trudy work hard in this book to overcome some of the difficulties and obstacles placed in their way. The ending, whilst not as shocking as the end of the first one, will still leave you wanting to know more straight away. Personally, I can't wait to read book 3 as soon as it is available. Levi is working to deal with his past and Trudy is likewise working at it. She shows her backbone in this book which I loved. One of my favourite quotes is when she tells Levi to watch his tone as they left the dog back at the penthouse! Classic!
I have deliberately kept this review as generic as possible because I know that Debbie will kill me if I give away any spoilers. So let me just finish by saying that I highly recommend this book and enjoyed it as much as the first, albeit in a slightly different manner.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book; the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Sue (5 KP) rated I Know What You Bid Last Summer (Sarah Winston Garage Sale Mystery #5) in Books
Apr 23, 2018
Sarah Winston, a garage sale expert, knows how to run a successful garage sale and has made a business out of it. As part of a charity event, Sarah volunteers her expertise and agrees to manage an athletic equipment swap. While preparing the event, she is knocked out by a would-be robber and then the day of the event discovers the dead body of the local superintendent.
Sarah becomes an amateur detective and compiles a list of murder suspects that all seem to be other members of the school board. With her quick wit and sleuthing talents, Sarah must find the killer before the killer makes her another item for the dumpster.
This book is more than a charming cozy mystery; the author gives you inside tips into the world of garage sale selling and buying. The mystery, suspense, and moments of comedy keep you interested, while you try to guess who the culprit is.

Imaginative
A very good film that isn't quite understood by the masses.
I went into this move blind (no pun intended). Didn't have a clue what it was about.
The best part about it is how you never see the monster.
Now I've seen all over the Internet how this is apparently try about mental disorders and depression but I'm not quite sure if i agree with those assumptions (which is all we have tbh).
The film makers did say that they originally had the monster visible in the movie but that it didn't fit and didn't quite convey what they wanted so they cut it in the end.
I think I prefer it that way though because it leaves the movie open to interpretation. I'd recommend this move to anyone who likes suspense and mystery. It can be quite slow at times but there's always enough through provoking stuff happening that you might not notice.

An Edge of Your Seat Thriller
Nothing creates more suspense than taking away all the sound on the room. You ever walk through the house completely silent in the dead of night clinging to a hairbrush after hearing a sound downstairs? That is how I felt sitting at the edge of my seat as I glued myself to the theater's screen. There most have been no more than five works spoken throughout this film and the effect was stunning. The silence pulled you into the story and kept you focused on the screen as you pieced everything together, the visual effects are carefully planned and there's such careful details placed into the overall world this movie has created that you can't help but be in awe by the end of the film. The ending fills you with hope and a sense of accomplishment that you can't help but share with the characters. It was truly complete ending to the film and an overall masterpiece.
