Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2434 KP) rated Exposure in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Kaycee Raye is known in town for her paranoia. But when someone does break into her house, leave a threatening message, and then take it again before the police arrive, will she get anyone to believe her? I saw a major twist coming fairly early, but for the most part I enjoy this tale of Christian suspense.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2434 KP) rated Shadows on the Sand (Seaside Mysteries) in Books

Just as Carrie and Greg might be ready to start a relationship, danger comes to their resort town. First the dishwasher in Carrie's restaurant is murdered, then her waitress starts acting strangely. What's going on? This is more romantic suspense than a true mystery, but I found the story compelling and the climax very suspenseful.

Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated Hunt the Dawn (Fatal Dreams, #2) in Books

Wow
I loved it
Couldn't put it down.
This is the second book in the fatal dreams series and although you can read it as a standalone I would recommend reading the first one, race the darkness.
I enjoyed the way Abbie writes and although this is a romantic paranormal suspense it also has quite a few grisly crime scenes.
I would certainly recommend this book and I'll probably include it in a future monthly book box at www.andrelaxbookboxes.co.uk

Dianne Robbins (1738 KP) rated American Innovations in Podcasts

I am a former emergency medical technician, so when I heard an ad for the creation of the modern ambulance service and paramedics, I had to listen to it. I found the topic fascinating and enjoyed the way the material was written. The content was presented with dialogue and suspense that brought the story to life. I scanned the list of episode topics and will definitely be listening to more of them soon.
It was a well written book series, I did enjoy reading it as there is adventure, love interest, suspense and cliff hangers throughout however it is not on my favourite shelf as it didn’t hook me in as other books that I have read. I crave the books that I cannot put down and end up reading until 3am. Sadly, this was not one of those but don’t get me wrong, it was still enjoyable to read.

I wasn't as big a fan of Duff's POV, mostly because it sounded too similar to Lily's voice. I know it must be difficult to encorporate an entirely different personality into a character within the same world, but his thoughts were too in sync with Lily's. This book was more action than suspense, so it wasn't as interesting to me. However, I'm still deeply invested and will read the next book to find out how everything unravels.
